Krillin from Dragon Ball is a friend anyone would be lucky to have in their social circle. He’s the versatile pal who adds depth to any group. Not everyone can claim a loyal partner like Goku, but Krillin certainly fits that bill. Whether it’s bringing a dish for a barbecue or readying himself for a fight, this short-statured character is always present and ready. His contributions may not always be as substantial as his more powerful friends’, but he never lets that deter him from doing his best to support his companions. Ever since I first appeared in chapter twenty-five of the manga, I’ve been a staple character in the Dragon Ball series. Initially, I was meant to be Goku’s rival, and at the tender age of thirteen, I was portrayed as self-centered and impolite. My relationship with Goku wasn’t exactly friendly back then, offering a stark contrast to his sweet and carefree nature, while my own personality was filled with underhanded bitterness.

However, our rivalry fueled us both to grow stronger, learning martial arts from Master Roshi. Over time, I evolved into more than just an old friend for Goku. Throughout the Dragon Ball series, I’ve been by his side, lending a helping hand whenever I could.

Given the impressive number of powerful warriors and brilliant minds in Goku’s team, it might seem unusual for an ordinary human to consistently hold the title of best friend and valued companion. Yet, unlike Yamcha or Tien, Krillin stands out due to his unwavering courage. Even when faced with the powerful Saiyans and other aliens, he doesn’t shy away from the challenge. This is what makes him exceptional among the group.

Courage in the Face of Fear

It’s hardly necessary to mention, given that each character from the Dragon Ball series has demonstrated courage at some point, but what sets Krillin apart is his unwavering consistency. As the pure-blooded humans step aside, recognizing their limitations against the escalating threats posed by Goku and others, Krillin takes a break, transitioning into a police officer to handle issues he could manage. However, he always returns when duty calls. Krillin is a constant presence. Regardless of his fear or self-perceived inadequacy, he shows up every time. He knows his role, even if it’s simply providing moral support. There’s no one quite like him when it comes to boosting the spirits of his comrades. In tough times, having a reliable ally can be more valuable than anything else.

Making Moves

Beyond disregarding his strong inclination to escape, Krillin frequently takes actions behind the scenes. When combat isn’t an option, he finds alternative ways to assist. This can range from escorting injured comrades to safety, to passing on crucial information to those who require it. He excels at managing issues within his capabilities, a talent that some of his companions seem to lack. However, when the situation demands it, Krillin doesn’t hesitate to take risks for others. It’s unfortunate that the strongest human on Earth is often overshadowed by his super-powered friends and foes, but his true strength becomes evident when he willingly puts himself in harm’s way for others.

Are you considering reviving Piccolo and the others, don’t you think? It’s clearly not feasible for just the two of us to confront someone as powerful as that. Attempting it would only lead to our demise.

Without a doubt, Krillin is an exceptional friend. He’s the type who puts his friends first, even if it means sacrificing his own position. He gladly accepts responsibility while letting others bask in the glory. Goku might be the main character, but Krillin is always there to support him. Having a friend like Krillin is truly fortunate.
