Arc System Works announced exciting updates for *Dragon Ball FighterZ* at EVO France 2025. They’re planning a new balance update to adjust gameplay, though details haven’t been shared yet. The biggest surprise was the reveal of a new character: Super Saiyan 4 Goku from *Dragon Ball Daima*. Fans can expect this new version of Goku to become playable in Spring 2026.
The release of Super Saiyan 4 Goku is a significant update for *Dragon Ball FighterZ*, as it’s the first new character in over four years – since Android 21 (Lab Coat) came out in February 2022. This update also marks the first new content added to *FighterZ* since the sad passing of *Dragon Ball* creator Akira Toriyama earlier in 2024. While fans are excited, Arc System Works hasn’t announced if this release signals a broader return to updating the game.
Arc System Works has been hard at work on several projects, and now they’re adding a new character to *Dragon Ball FighterZ*. They’ve also been expanding *Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising* with more characters as part of its second season of downloadable content. Beyond that, they’re developing *Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls*, a fighting game featuring Marvel characters.
