Dragon Ball Super 2 Anime Officially Revealed, Moro Arc in Production

The Dragon Ball Genkidama Matsuri event has officially announced that a new Dragon Ball Super anime is coming! This new series, Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol, will continue the story where the original Dragon Ball Super left off. However, it won’t adapt the Dragon Ball Super: Broly movie; instead, it will begin with the Galactic Patrol Prisoner arc, which originally appeared in the Dragon Ball Super manga by Toyotarou.

It’s been a long wait for fans since Dragon Ball Super ended in 2018, so the announcement of a sequel to the Tournament of Power, eight years later, is incredibly exciting. This new series, Dragon Ball Super 2, will first cover the Granolah Saga and then adapt the story from the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero manga. After that, the anime will move into completely original content. Hopefully, by then, Toyotarou will have finished writing the Black Frieza Saga for the Dragon Ball Super manga.

The Dragon Ball Super Anime is Back With a Brand New Saga

While we don’t yet know when Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol will be released, a new Dragon Ball Super anime is officially in development. The promotional artwork shows Goku and Vegeta, drawn in the style of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, wearing the Galactic Patrol logo on their outfits and standing on what looks like a Galactic Patrol ship. This ties into the Dragon Ball Super manga, where Goku and Vegeta briefly become Galactic Patrolmen after the ancient wizard Moro escapes.

The Moro arc in the Dragon Ball manga spans 25 chapters. If the new Dragon Ball Super anime adapts one chapter per episode, the upcoming ‘Galactic Patrol’ saga could potentially have a complete 25-episode season. However, like the original Dragon Ball Super anime did with the ‘Battle of Gods’ and ‘Resurrection F’ arcs, it’s likely the new series will expand on the manga’s story with added scenes and content.

The Moro Arc is the Dragon Ball Super Anime’s Best Saga

The return of the Dragon Ball Super anime is huge news, and it’s even better that the new season will start with what many fans consider the best story arc from the manga. Known as the Moro arc, or the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, it teams up Goku and Vegeta with the Galactic Patrol to defeat Moro, a powerful ancient wizard who can drain the energy from entire planets. This planet-eating villain is one of the most formidable opponents in Dragon Ball Super, and the fight will truly test Goku and Vegeta like never before.

The Moro arc is a turning point for Vegeta’s character, and Goku finds a new teacher to help him master Ultra Instinct. It’s great to see the Z-Fighters – like Gohan, Piccolo, Krillin, and others – get a chance to be heroes again before Goku and Vegeta take center stage. With exciting new artwork and a fantastic story, Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol is set to become a massive online hit when the episodes are released.
