Dragon Ball Super: 6 God-Tier Forms With the Potential to Beat Black Frieza

Black Frieza is considered the most powerful villain in the entire Dragon Ball series. When the Dragon Ball Super manga continues, the Z-Fighters will be forced to confront their greatest threat yet. Luckily, the five main characters ended the last chapter, 103, at their peak power levels – and, as always happens in Dragon Ball, they’re poised to become even stronger.

Currently, Goku and the Z-Fighters aren’t strong enough to defeat Black Frieza, but they still have a chance. Goku, Vegeta, and the others have developed amazing new powers that could become even stronger by the time they face Black Frieza again. It’s highly likely that at least one of their most powerful forms will be able to finally defeat him.

Orange Piccolo Has Yet to Reach His True Power

I’ve noticed Dragon Ball Super didn’t give Piccolo a lot of focus for a while, but that all changed with the Super Hero movie. It was really cool to see him take center stage! After Shenron unlocked his hidden potential, Piccolo was able to transform into Orange Piccolo. While not as powerful as Gohan Beast, Orange Piccolo is incredibly strong – powerful enough to go toe-to-toe with Goku and Vegeta. That puts him right up there as one of the top five strongest fighters in the whole series, in my opinion.

While Shenron unlocked Orange Piccolo’s power, Piccolo himself can still grow even stronger through training. He consistently works to improve, unlike his student Gohan, meaning he’ll eventually reach the peak of his Orange Piccolo form. It would be surprising to see Orange Piccolo defeat Black Frieza, but Dragon Ball has thrown curveballs before – like making Piccolo the central figure in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. With the Black Frieza Saga underway, anything is possible.

Gohan Beast is Already Stronger Than Goku & Vegeta With Minimal Training

Throughout most of Dragon Ball Super, Gohan wasn’t fully engaged in training, only becoming serious during the Tournament of Power and the fight against Moro. He didn’t truly unlock his full power until the movie Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, at which point he became the strongest of all the Z-Fighters. His ‘Gohan Beast’ form is incredibly powerful, even surpassing his father, Goku. In Chapter 103 of the Dragon Ball Super manga, Gohan Beast actually defeats Goku, who was in his Ultra Instinct form, during a practice match.

Even Whis believes Gohan has the potential to become Universe 7’s next God of Destruction, although Beerus doesn’t agree. This is remarkable considering Gohan just fought Cell Max and hasn’t had any training with his new Beast form. If Gohan continues to train between the events of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero and the fight with Black Frieza, he could become powerful enough to defeat him.

Ultra Ego Vegeta Will Become a Monster Once Vegeta Masters the Form

During the Granolah the Survivor Saga, Vegeta achieved a new transformation comparable to Goku’s Ultra Instinct. Through training with Beerus and receiving a God of Destruction earring, he mastered ‘Ultra Ego,’ a form that lets him become more powerful as he fights, especially when injured. However, Vegeta’s eagerness for battle can make him ignore pain, potentially leading to exhaustion before he can win.

Although still new and unrefined, Vegeta’s Ultra Ego form seems to already match – and potentially exceed – the power of Goku’s Ultra Instinct. With more training, Vegeta could become even stronger than Goku and deliver a decisive victory against Frieza. Given Vegeta’s long and personal history with Frieza, it makes sense that he would be the one to finally defeat him, assuming he can overcome the challenges of mastering Ultra Ego.

Ultra Instinct Goku is Growing Stronger With Every Single Saga

Ultra Instinct is a massive power-up for Goku, arguably his biggest since becoming a Super Saiyan. He first achieved it during the Tournament of Power, and he’s steadily gotten better at using it in each story arc since then. By the Galactic Patrol Saga, Goku could control the transformation and activate it whenever he wanted. Then, during the Granolah the Survivor Saga, he even unlocked a more powerful version, True Ultra Instinct, without needing to be completely calm, and he figured out how to combine it with his other Super Saiyan forms.

In the recent manga epilogue for Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, Goku is shown using a refined version of Ultra Instinct, implying he’s moved past the need for its initial ‘True’ form and improved his control. This naturally leads to the expectation that he’ll continue to develop Ultra Instinct further during the upcoming Black Frieza Saga. Given that Goku has had the most experience with his strongest form, he’s the most likely to overcome Black Frieza through sheer skill and technique.

Legendary Super Saiyan Broly Beat Frieza Once & He Can Do It Again

Broly possesses a raw, natural power level greater than anyone else in the history of Dragon Ball. Even without any real training – he only fought to survive on the planet Vampa – he was strong enough to battle Goku and Vegeta in their God forms while at his base power. Once he transformed into a Super Saiyan, he quickly exceeded their abilities, becoming incredibly powerful as a Legendary Super Saiyan and reaching a completely different level of strength.

Broly, in his Legendary Super Saiyan form, has already defeated Frieza in the movie Dragon Ball Super: Broly. Even when Frieza was at his Golden form, Broly’s power—enough to battle and survive against Gogeta Blue—sets him apart from most fighters. Currently, Broly struggles to transform into his Legendary Super Saiyan state whenever he chooses, but he’s improving, as shown in Dragon Ball Super Chapter 103. Once he masters this ability, Broly will likely be the Z-Fighters’ best hope for defeating Black Frieza without needing to fuse.

Super Saiyan Blue is All Gogeta Needs to Obliterate Black Frieza

While Black Frieza could potentially beat Goku and Vegeta individually, he doesn’t stand a chance against Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta. Gogeta is the incredibly powerful fusion of Goku and Vegeta, possibly even strong enough to defeat Beerus. As seen in Dragon Ball Super: Broly, Gogeta is so powerful he can warp reality and transport himself and his opponent to another dimension. Originally, Akira Toriyama planned for Gogeta to take Broly all the way to the sun for their final fight, which would have been an incredibly impressive display of power.

Gogeta could easily handle Broly even without his strongest form; he didn’t even seem to exert himself in his base or regular Super Saiyan state. He’d definitely be powerful enough to defeat Black Frieza if he transformed into Super Saiyan Blue. However, Goku and Vegeta are too proud to resort to using Gogeta against Frieza, especially after having plenty of time to improve their own abilities. If Gogeta appears during the fight with Black Frieza, it would mean the battle has gone terribly wrong.
