The Dragon Ball Super manga is quite a bit further along than the anime. Fans have been eager to see some of the manga’s highlights brought to life in animation, and recent news about a remake of the Beerus Saga and the upcoming adaptation of the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga suggest that moment is finally approaching.
The Dragon Ball Super manga features some really cool moves that would look fantastic if animated. While some attacks are more powerful than others, fans can expect Toei Animation to make them visually stunning when they finally bring them to life.
Perfected Ultra Instinct (Giant Form)
Fans haven’t yet seen the full extent of Goku’s Perfected Ultra Instinct in the anime. While the Tournament of Power showed us a glimpse of his power, the manga has revealed even more impressive abilities with this divine transformation. Many are eagerly anticipating seeing a specific, powerful move from the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga animated soon.
Goku’s most powerful form, Perfected Ultra Instinct (Giant Form), hasn’t appeared often in the Dragon Ball manga, but it’s become incredibly popular with fans. He can only achieve this massive size while using Perfected Ultra Instinct, as a powerful blue energy completely surrounds him, granting him immense strength to fight his enemies.
Burst Kamehameha
During the Tournament of Power in the Dragon Ball manga, Goku performs a special attack called the Burst Kamehameha. While it appears in the manga, this move hasn’t been animated in the anime yet. It’s similar to Goku’s regular Kamehameha, but with an added flourish: he does a backflip and fires the energy blast from behind his opponent after charging it up.
Perhaps we’ll see this technique animated in a later story arc. Or, similar to how the anime revisited the Beerus Saga, we might get a retelling of the Tournament of Power story focused on Jiren, showing him using the move. While it wasn’t very effective against Jiren when Goku used it in the manga, it would still be exciting to see it animated.
Gamma Burst Flash
Similar to Goku’s Burst Kamehameha, Vegeta’s Gamma Burst Flash is a move that has only been shown in the Dragon Ball Super manga. While it’s appeared in the Dragon Ball Heroes game, it hasn’t been featured in the anime series yet.
Vegeta employs this attack during the fight with Goku Black and Future Zamasu in the “Future” Trunks Saga, but it severely weakens him, depleting his energy and forcing him back to his base form at a critical moment. He uses it again during the Tournament of Power, combining it with Goku’s Kamehameha, though it isn’t powerful enough to defeat Jiren.
Forced Spirit Fission
We’ve previously seen an animation of the Spirit Control ability, Instant Transmission. Now, with the upcoming release of the Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol anime, we’re finally going to see Forced Spirit Fission used significantly in the story.
Vegeta masters Forced Spirit Fission after training on Planet Yardrat, a skill crucial for defeating Moro. This technique allows him to extract energy from opponents and then control it. Both the technique and Vegeta himself will be central to the story’s conclusion.
Masenko Beam Cannon
Gohan and Piccolo have already shared some fantastic scenes, particularly in the Super Hero movie. But the new Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol anime promises an exciting team-up where they’ll combine forces for a powerful new attack.
The Masenko Beam Cannon is a combined attack, blending Gohan’s Masenko with Piccolo’s Special Beam Cannon. Gohan starts by firing his Masenko, and Piccolo simultaneously charges his, with both beams ultimately merging into a single, powerful blast that pierces through whatever they’re aiming at.
Self Destruction Light Grenade
We can expect to see more of Piccolo’s abilities in the Galactic Patrol anime. Although the arc mainly focuses on Goku, Vegeta, and Merus, Piccolo still has some important scenes.
I’ve noticed the Self Destruction Light Grenade looks a lot like an upgraded version of Piccolo’s Light Grenade – the light it gives off in the manga seems really powerful, almost dangerously so. It’s a shame Piccolo didn’t get to fully demonstrate it, though, as his attack was cut short. Hopefully, we’ll get to see the full extent of its power either in a future manga chapter or when the attack makes a return.
Copy Ability
The anime will heavily feature Seven-Three’s Copy Ability, a powerful technique that lets him replicate the skills of anyone he targets. While the ability itself doesn’t look impressive, its effects will be visually exciting and have a significant impact on battles.
The Copy Ability lets you save the powers of up to three fighters, but you can only use those powers for thirty minutes at a time. While this limits how often you can use it, it’s still a very powerful tool.
Fire and Flames
One of the most anticipated parts of the new season is seeing Moro’s unique magic come to life on screen. While the series has featured magic users before, like Babidi and Baba, Moro’s control and power are on a whole other level. He’s quickly become one of the most compelling villains in Super, and fans are really looking forward to seeing his abilities animated.
Moro frequently uses his Fire and Flames ability, especially when he’s in trouble, though it doesn’t always work perfectly. This technique draws power from the life energy of the planet he’s on, making it dangerous because it can cause significant damage and also allows Moro to steal a planet’s energy. While this ability also appears in the upcoming Granloah the Survivor Saga, that part of the story won’t be animated for some time. And speaking of what’s coming up…
Charged Finger Beam
The anime hasn’t started adapting the Granolah the Survivor Saga yet, and Toei hasn’t even suggested it’s in the works. However, it’s likely we’ll see it animated within the next two years, and it promises to be an exciting arc with a lot of action.
Granolah’s Charged Finger Beam is an incredibly powerful energy attack. He concentrates energy into his hand before firing a beam that’s far stronger than his usual Finger Beam. While it’s not a visually spectacular technique, fans are excited to see it animated in the upcoming anime adaptation of the saga.
