Dragon Ball: Vegeta's Best Transformation Scenes

As a long-time fan of Dragon Ball Z and Super, I must say that Vegeta’s transformations have always been a source of excitement for me. Each new form he unleashes is like a testament to his growth as a character, reflecting his struggles, determination, and the lessons he learns along the way.

In the storyline, Vegeta, the Saiyan Royalty, initially portrayed as an adversary seeking eternal life through the Dragon Balls, has a legendary feud with Goku that’s deeply etched in shonen manga lore. Throughout the series, Vegeta’s rivalry with Goku escalates, and Vegeta progressively gains power, even managing multiple transformations of his own. Although it appears that Goku consistently surpasses him, this shouldn’t diminish the impressive feats of strength Vegeta demonstrates in defeating his enemies repeatedly.

In the series known as Dragon Ball, the Prince consistently reaches unprecedented levels of power, leaving fans amazed on multiple occasions. The instances where he undergoes transformations are often celebrated for their brilliance, with viewers expressing affection for their beloved character and admiring his captivating charm that keeps him a standout figure in the Dragon Ball universe.

An Explosion Of Anger After Seeing His Wife Be Slapped By Beerus

  • Form Debut:Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods

As a diehard Dragon Ball fan, let me take you back to the nostalgic days when “Battle of Gods” first graced our screens. Starved for authentic Dragon Ball content, this movie opened up a new world in the series, introduced unforgettable characters who have become fan favorites in Super, and gave us a side of Vegeta we’d never seen before. It was only fitting that Vegeta would eventually evolve into a more compassionate character while still maintaining his prideful demeanor. Watching him explode with rage after Beerus slaps Bulma was an unforgettable moment that I will always cherish.

A god who soloed Super Saiyan 3 and faced little to no problem up to this point was finally pushed back by Vegeta, who landed a hit on Beerus and bombarded him with projectiles out of sheer rage. It’s a transformation that has remained fresh in the minds of most fans for the iconic line Vegeta utters before punching Beerus. In a way, it also lends credence to Future Trunks’ Super Saiyan Rage form fans saw in Dragon Ball Super, even if that form can still be puzzling for many.

Turned His Relatively Even Battle Against Goku Into A Brutal One-Sided Affair

Dragon Ball: Vegeta's Best Transformation Scenes
  • Form Debut: Episode 31 of Dragon Ball Z (Saiyan Sized Secret)

The initial confrontation between Goku and Vegeta underscores the power of the Saiyan Prince, making clear why he posed such a significant danger to the Z Warriors back then. Despite Goku utilizing all his abilities, Vegeta’s determination and arrogance spurred him to grow even stronger and demonstrate to this common Saiyan warrior the cost for daring to touch royalty. Overwhelmed by Goku’s might, Vegeta unleashed a transformation that made him much more powerful than Kakarot at that moment in time.

1. The transformation of Vegeta into a giant ape strikes fear in fans, as Goku suffered severe bone-crushing damage from this form. The situation seemed hopeless, with our hero standing little chance if not for the crucial help of his allies at the right moment. It’s still hard to imagine that Yajirobe—of all people—was able to reverse this transformation and offer the Z Warriors a fighting opportunity.

Broke His Limits While Pairing Up With Goku To Take On Jiren

3 Dragon Ball: Vegeta's Best Transformation Scenes

  • Form Debut: Episode 123 of Dragon Ball Super (Body, Soul and Power Unleashed! Goku and Vegeta!)

When Goku revealed his Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-ken form, it infuriated Vegeta as his rival surpassed him in power yet again. Even though he conceded Kakarot’s superiority during the battle against Buu, Vegeta refused to accept his limitations and aimed to compete with Goku fairly. This desire intensified during their confrontation with Jiren, leading Vegeta to recognize that he must embark on a journey to surpass his own perceived limits of strength.

This allows him to unlock the latent potential of the Super Saiyan Blue form, evolving it to a new level that lets him exude the same power level as Goku when he combined the base version of this form with the Kaio-ken. This form got to shine against Top, with Vegeta putting it all on the line to eliminate the second-strongest member of the Pride Troopers and giving Universe 7 a fighting chance to win the tournament.

  • Form Debut: Chapter 74 of the Dragon Ball Super manga (Vegeta Vs. Granolah)

Watching Goku unlock Ultra Instinct was one of the most enthralling moments in Dragon Ball Super, but fans couldn’t help but wonder how Vegeta could match up to his rival after this new transformation. Fans who read the Super manga had this question answered when Vegeta unlocked his Ultra Ego form and showed Granolah a side of him that frightened this warrior to his very core. It’s an epic transformation where Vegeta gets stronger as he incurs more damage.

In the heat of this battle, my undoing was Granolah’s mastery of his eyes’ full potential. He managed to deal enough damage to knock me out of this form, leaving me disoriented. Yet, it was an awe-inspiring performance from this newfound form that took our combat to unprecedented heights. What made it even more impressive was that Granolah had to tap into another level of power with his eyes to catch me off guard due to my lack of familiarity with this form.

Showing Android 19 The True Meaning Of Fear In An Iconic Scene

  • Form Debut: Episode 129 of Dragon Ball Z (Upgrade to Super Saiyan)

Occasionally, it’s the smallest developments that can be incredibly rewarding to behold, and that’s exactly what happened when Vegeta stepped up to battle the Androids. As a fan, I too wondered if our Z Warriors stood a chance against such formidable opponents, given that our lone Super Saiyan was struck down by a heart virus. Yet, Vegeta surprised everyone, even me, as he unveiled his newfound power, a strength equal to that of the rival he faced in the Frieza arc.

Witnessing Vegeta query Android 19 about the meaning of fear while his theme plays, and him revealing a new transformation as a result, is quite enjoyable. At this stage, it wasn’t clear which side Vegeta would choose, leading many to worry about a potentially vindictive Super Saiyan Vegeta capable of destroying everything in his path. However, Android 17 and 18 demonstrated that his new form wouldn’t be sufficient to defeat them, thus temporarily diminishing his Saiyan pride once more.
