Summary
- Not all Saiyans in Dragon Ball are as strong as Goku and Vegeta, with some weaker or unexplored characters.
- Characters like King Vegeta, Bardock, and Goten have the potential to be powerful Saiyans but fall short.
- Bulla and Pan have unrealized potential as Saiyan warriors and could still become powerful fighters in the future.
As a longtime fan of Dragon Ball and someone who’s spent countless hours pondering the lore of this iconic series, I must say that it’s fascinating to observe the various ways the Saiyan race has been portrayed. Some have risen to legendary heights, while others… well, let’s just say they could use a little more training at the Tenkaichi Budokai.
One of the most intriguing cases is that of Bulla (Bra), Vegeta and Bulma’s second child and Trunks’ sister. Being half-Saiyan, she has immense potential, but as it stands, she hasn’t exactly set the world on fire with her fighting prowess.
Now, I don’t want to be too hard on young Bulla. After all, even Master Roshi needed a bit of time to master the Kamehameha. But when you look at her siblings, Goten and Trunks, it’s clear that they’ve both taken their training more seriously.
It’s a shame, really. If Bulla could tap into even half of her Saiyan heritage, imagine the chaos she could cause! I mean, think about it: a young girl with a power level higher than Krillin, running around causing mischief like Android 18? Now that would be something to see!
But hey, who knows? Maybe one day Bulla will surprise us all and show off her hidden fighting potential. Until then, I’ll just have to keep dreaming about a Bulla-powered Super Saiyan rampage. After all, even the most unlikely of warriors can rise to greatness in Dragon Ball!
Since its inception in 1984, the storyline of Dragon Ball has undergone a significant transformation. For example, the main character, Goku, has experienced numerous changes, from his physical appearance to his character traits and abilities. Initially depicted as an exceptionally strong child, Goku eventually gained powers that matched those of deities, surpassing any human and even many of his fellow Saiyans.
Although Goku belongs to a powerful Saiyan lineage, it’s important to note that not every Saiyan warrior shares his strength. Throughout the Dragon Ball series, there have been instances where certain Saiyans failed to reach the first stages of Super Saiyan transformations, making them relatively weaker compared to Goku and his kin. This has been particularly evident in some portrayals of Saiyans during Dragon Ball GT.
10. Goten
A Young Super Saiyan Who Has Not Received The Spotlight Yet
Intriguingly, Goten’s debut was full of potential – he’s one of the youngest Super Saiyans in the series and bears a resemblance to Goku. Yet, his combat worth has predominantly been linked to his friend Trunks, who is older and more powerful than him within the franchise so far.
In the series Dragon Ball GT, his role didn’t boost his power, but until Dragon Ball Super, Goten mainly excelled on the battlefield as part of his fusion form, Gotenks. Despite this, due to his innate abilities and being from a powerful family, there remains high expectation for this character to develop his strength and potentially rise among the most potent members of his kind.
9. King Vegeta
A Powerful Leader But A Weak Warrior
In his role as the Saiyan king and Vegeta’s father, King Vegeta did possess some political clout, but he lacked the combat power to stand against Frieza. Additionally, Vegeta outgrew him in strength rather swiftly within the series, leaving his true potential largely unseen.
In essence, King Vegeta primarily focused on maintaining his rule instead of engaging in combat frequently. As a result, viewers often found it challenging to ascertain the boundaries of his skills both as a warrior and a Saiyan.
8. Bardock And His Team
Low-Class Saiyan With The Potential To Go Beyond
Bardock is often a contentious fan favorite due to his appearances both within and outside the canon, presenting contrasting portrayals of the character. Generally known as a low-class Saiyan, much like his son Goku, who possessed the ability to surpass established limits. However, he never truly demonstrated the full extent of his combat prowess.
Despite being weaker, Bardock’s team primarily consisted of inferior Saiyans like Shugesh and Tora, who often struggled in their Saiyan roles. Unlike them, Bardock had the latent ability for greatness that was merely hinted at, but never truly given the opportunity to prove it due to his untimely fate.
7. Paragus
Uses His Son’s Power To Compensate For His Lack Of Strength
One might assume that the father of such a formidable Saiyan warrior would wield some level of authority himself, but Paragus’ influence was primarily over his son Broly. Being a manipulator, he derived his power from leveraging his son’s abilities, seldom demonstrating any significant physical force on his own.
As a long-time fan of Dragon Ball, I’ve seen my fair share of powerful warriors, and one character who always stood out to me was Paragus from the Saiyan race. Despite his status as a high-ranking warrior, he rarely showed off his skills as a Saiyan fighter, which left many fans questioning if he had any hidden strength.
However, what struck me most about Paragus was his apparent defenselessness without his son to aid him in battles. This dependence on his son made me wonder if there was something more to this character than we initially thought. It’s not uncommon for Dragon Ball characters to have hidden abilities, and I couldn’t help but feel that Paragus might be hiding something as well.
In conclusion, while Paragus may not have demonstrated his full potential as a Saiyan warrior, his reliance on his son suggests that he has some extreme hidden strength waiting to be unleashed. As a fan of the series, I eagerly await any revelations about this mysterious character and what lies beneath the surface.
6. Tarble
Vegeta’s Forgotten And Disappointing Brother
While many fans may have forgotten about him, Vegeta possesses a sibling who was banished due to being deemed insufficiently strong. Unfortunately, there isn’t much known regarding this Saiyan beyond the fact that he served as a significant letdown in terms of power and combat skills.
Despite exhibiting impressive feats, like defeating two of Frieza’s formidable minions, Tarble, a Saiyan, stands out as one of the weakest warriors among his race. This character, unfortunately, has been a significant disappointment in the Dragon Ball universe due to his lack of substantial influence, especially when compared to his highly accomplished brother.
5. Pan
Unrealized Potential That Could Still Become Reality
As someone who has been a long-time fan of Dragon Ball Z and its subsequent series, I am excited to see Pan’s development as a Saiyan fighter. Having grown up watching Gohan and Goku, I can see a lot of potential in this young girl. With her lineage, being the daughter of Gohan and Videl, and a granddaughter to Goku and Hercule, it’s clear that she comes from a powerful bloodline.
I believe that Pan has a great deal of untapped potential, just like her father did at a young age. Taking on powerful enemies at such a young age is no easy feat, but Pan seems to handle it with grace and determination. It’s also impressive to see her display temporary Saiyan powers, similar to what Gohan exhibited in the past.
I am hopeful that there will be more opportunities for Pan to grow as a character and showcase her abilities as a Saiyan fighter. I can only imagine how amazing it would be to see her reach her full potential and stand alongside the likes of Goku, Gohan, and Vegeta in battle. As a fan, I eagerly await the next installment of Dragon Ball Z and the continued adventures of Pan and the rest of the cast.
As a longtime fan of Dragon Ball, I’ve seen many characters come and go, but none have captivated me quite like this young Saiyan girl. Despite her youth, she reminds me of Gohan in many ways – both are 1/4th Saiyan, and yet they struggle to tap into their full potential. In Dragon Ball GT, she’s portrayed as a fighter, but unfortunately, she seems to lose more battles than she wins. It’s disheartening to see her struggles, but I can’t help but feel that her fate will change one day. With determination and hard work, I believe she has the power within her to show the world just how strong a 1/4th Saiyan can truly be. I eagerly await the day when she takes center stage and proves herself as a formidable warrior in the Dragon Ball universe.
4. Nappa
Sadist Saiyan With Standard Powers
Despite appearing extremely formidable, Nappa is among the least powerful Saiyans when considering their full potential. Being one of the early Saiyans introduced in Dragon Ball Z, Nappa demonstrates impressive physical strength by overpowering many human Z-fighters. However, it’s not until Goku arrives that it becomes evident how far behind he is in comparison to other warriors of his race.
Nappa proved no match for Vegeta’s strength, demonstrating that despite his intimidating demeanor, he was no threat to the mightiest Saiyans in battle. His cruel persona only served to mislead others into underestimating his true capabilities.
3. Raditz
Lower-Level Saiyan Who Serves As An Intro To The Warrior Race
Initially in “Dragon Ball Z”, Raditz exhibited significant destructive capabilities and even played a role in Goku’s demise. Yet, as more details emerged about Saiyans and their combat prowess, it became clear that Raditz was not highly regarded as a warrior by the standards of his own species.
In the early stages of Dragon Ball Z, there was a Saiyan character who was often seen as less powerful due to his lower rank compared to Goku and Piccolo. Over time, as Goku, Vegeta, and other Saiyans grew stronger, Raditz appeared weak in comparison.
2. Gine
A Non-Warrior Saiyan Reduced To Being Goku’s Mother
In the Dragon Ball universe, being Goku’s biological mother might give Gine some significance, but she is quite different from her powerful son, often depicted as fragile and kind-hearted. Born into a lower class among the Saiyans, Gine doesn’t exhibit any remarkable fighting skills. Her role as a mother to Goku is emphasized, though it remains uncertain if this is due to hidden abilities or simply her gentle nature.
In summary, there is limited information about Gine from the series, as she has not been extensively explored within the franchise. Despite her genetic lineage producing some of the strongest Saiyans, she doesn’t appear to possess remarkable physical strength or powers that set her apart among the warrior race.
1. Bulla (Bra)
Wasted Potential On An Almost-Human Saiyan
It’s unusual to think of Bulla as a Saiyan, given her human-like traits and lack of combat skills shown so far. However, being the second child of Vegeta and Bulma, and Trunks’ sister, she undeniably possesses immense potential for growth into a powerful Saiyan.
As a long-time fan of Dragon Ball, I have to admit that I am somewhat disappointed with Bulla’s portrayal as a fighter so far. Given her lineage as a half-Saiyan and the daughter of two beloved characters, I expected more from her in terms of combat skills. Compared to other young half-Saiyans like Goten and Trunks, Bulla has not impressed me as much. However, it’s important to remember that she is still very young, so there is always room for growth. I hope to see Bulla develop into a formidable Saiyan warrior in the future, but for now, she needs to prove herself more as a fighter.
