Dragon Ball’s Newest Super Saiyan is Hiding a Secret Connection to Broly

The newest Dragon Ball game, Dragon Ball: Age 1000, is currently shrouded in mystery. We know very little about the story, but the main character’s design has been revealed. He has silver hair and a prominent green color scheme. A quick scene in the trailer hints he might be related to Goku, possibly as a descendant of the Son family. However, it’s also possible he’s descended from a different Saiyan entirely.

I was so excited when Broly and Cheelai showed up in Dragon Ball Super: Broly – their bond was instant! Now, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero hints at Beerus having a thing for Cheelai, but it feels pretty one-sided. Cheelai and Broly genuinely care for each other, though. Romance hasn’t ever been a huge focus in Dragon Ball, but a relationship for Broly and Cheelai would totally make sense, and the main character from Dragon Ball: Age 1000 might actually prove they do end up together!

Dragon Ball: Age 1000’s Main Character Shares Many Design Similarities With Broly & Cheelai

As a huge Dragon Ball fan, I’ve noticed some really cool design choices in Dragon Ball: Age 1000! It’s awesome how the main character seems to have visual connections to both Broly and Cheelai. The hero actually reminds me a lot of Cheelai – they have a similar hairstyle and a slender build, and even comparable hair colors, though with a cool silver twist that’s reminiscent of Goku’s Mastered Ultra Instinct form. Plus, the overall color scheme of the hero subtly pulls from Broly’s, which is a neat little detail that really connects everything!

In Dragon Ball Super, Broly’s colors are primarily black, green, and purple. The hero from Age 1000 replaces purple with red, but still uses a combination of black and green. This character can also transform into a Super Saiyan, proving their Saiyan heritage. Currently, only three Saiyan families exist in Universe 7: Goku’s, Vegeta’s, and Broly’s. Therefore, the main character in Age 1000 must be descended from one of these families, and early clues suggest a connection to Broly’s lineage.

Making Age 1000’s Protagonist Connected to Broly Give the Story More Potential

Although hints suggest the hero in Age 1000 might be related to Goku (like the trailer’s reference to him and the hero’s possible Great Saiyaman outfit), connecting the new character to Broly would create a more compelling story. This would not only confirm the developing romance between Broly and Cheelai, but also provide a rich backstory for the new hero to explore.

The hero of Dragon Ball: Age 1000 might share Broly’s easily angered personality, creating an internal conflict for the character to overcome. This could also allow them to eventually achieve the powerful Legendary Super Saiyan transformation, which is considered special in Dragon Ball Super. However, if the hero is related to Goku or Vegeta, they wouldn’t be able to use this form. Instead, being a descendant of Broly and Cheelai would make the protagonist a unique hybrid Saiyan – one who isn’t part-human, unlike characters like Gohan, Goten, and Trunks.

It’s also possible the main character in Age 1000 isn’t connected to any existing characters. In Dragon Ball Online, Saiyan genes are so common that even humans can become Super Saiyans. By the time Age 1000 takes place, humanity might have changed so much that the main character can simply transform into a Super Saiyan on his own. However, his appearance is strikingly similar to both Broly and Cheelai, which suggests a possible romantic connection between them in Dragon Ball Super.
