Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined is full of secrets and optional quests for attentive players. One of the earliest side quests, involving an item called the Sizzling Stone, becomes available as soon as you arrive in Estard.

Finding the Sizzling Stone can be a bit puzzling at first, as its location isn’t immediately obvious. Don’t worry, though! This guide will tell you everything you need to know about finding the Sizzling Stone and how to use it.

Where to Find the Sizzling Stone in Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined

When players first arrive in the city of Estard, they might see a character rush into the tavern. This character is revealed to be Pike, the player character’s uncle, who is deeply in debt.

Speaking with the character nearby will start a short conversation explaining that Pike intended to sell an item called The Sizzling Stone to cover a debt. Unfortunately, the stone is missing, and players won’t be able to find it no matter how hard they look or what Pike says.

There’s a secret goal in Dragon Quest VII that’s actually quite obvious, and it’s closely tied to the main story and a key character. Be warned: major spoilers follow!

  • The first step to find the Sizzling Stone is to meet Prince Kiefer and trigger the main Quest.
  • After that, speak to the King and head outside of Estard to meet Kiefer at the nearby ruins
  • Upon reaching the ruins, turn a bit to the left to find Kiefer standing next to a statue with a torch
  • Talk to him and run through the dialogue, to figure out what he’s trying to do
  • When he fails to activate the statue by trying everything, he will hand out the Sizzling Stone to the Main Character

After you get the Sizzling Stone, it will stay in your inventory for a good amount of time, so don’t worry if it doesn’t disappear right away.

Changing the stone back into Pike will take time, so focus on completing the main story goals. This includes finishing the Shadow Puzzle in the Trial Room and finding the three remaining Yellow Tablet Fragments.

The story of the Sizzling Stone continues as players encounter Pike again. This time, they’re helping him collect some Shiny Bottles for a secret plan.

Once players have gathered the bottles, they need to find him at Rainbow Cove. He’ll then show them how to open another Puzzle Room. This puzzle is easy to solve: simply move the rocks to stop the water flow, which will uncover the door to the Stone Tablet Fragment.

Once you retrieve the Fragment, Pike will take the Sizzling Stone back, and you won’t be able to use it for a while. However, Pike will reward you with three Bottles of Holy Water for returning it.

Later in the story, the Sizzling Stone is key to bringing Sir Mervyn, the Hero of Legend, back to life after what happens at Wetlock. However, that event happens much later, so let’s not worry about it right now.
