Players can expect plenty of challenges, including puzzles like the tricky Shadow Puzzle found in the Trial Room.

How to Solve the Shadow Puzzle in Estard Trial Room

In Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, to complete the Shadow Puzzle in Estard, players must retrace their steps from the Hermit’s Cottage back to the cave entrance and then open the door in front of them.

Okay, so I came into this room and immediately noticed these cool statues – they’re made of bronze and have this half-flame design on them. There’s also a door over to the right, and it’s got this weird circular pattern with a hole right in the center. Definitely something to check out!

Players may try to copy the door’s pattern with shadows and statues, but that isn’t quite the right shape to unlock it.

The answer is simple: they need to complete the design on the wall blocking the doorway. To do this, move the left statue two spaces to the right and three spaces down, as illustrated in the image.

Shift the right statue two spaces to the left and three spaces up, as illustrated. Finally, to finish the puzzle and open the door, guide your character up the steps and position them directly in front of the shadow.

After completing this step, players will enter the Trial Room. Inside, they’ll find a Tablet resting on a small altar, but they must first defeat two Shadows to continue.

Battles are fairly simple, and once you win, you can collect the Yellow Tablet Fragment from the altar. This finishes the first trial. Return to the Hermit to tell him what you’ve discovered, and he’ll let you know where to find the other fragments in Estard.
