Awakening” is expanding the property market in Player vs Environment (PvE), offering a wider variety of base building locations to players. This update also enhances game stability and rectifies a significant vehicle problem, ensuring an overall improved experience for all players.
On June 10, Dune: Awakening made a powerful debut on PC via Steam, surpassing expectations by reaching a peak of 189,000 simultaneous players during its initial week. This impressive feat marked a significant milestone for both publisher and developer Funcom. The game is slated to appear on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2026; however, some issues require resolution prior to the console launch.
In the newest update, version 1.1.17.0, Funcom is focusing on enhancing late-game areas by providing additional base building locations, specifically in the Deep Desert’s PvE section. More Rock Island sites have been established, and when these changes take effect on July 29 after the Coriolis Storm apex, players will find more spots for resource gathering and settlement, offering high-level players new places to establish their homes.
The new update in the game “Dune: Awakening” tackles significant glitches that have led to vehicles vanishing, particularly ornithopters during Deep Desert travel when players exit their vehicles mid-journey due to connectivity problems. This update aims to resolve these connection issues and ensures that lost ornithopters reappear close to the player if such issues occur. The game has been compensating affected players for vehicle, base, and resource losses due to bugs, demonstrating the development team’s attention to in-game property losses reported by players. This fix in the latest patch aims to prevent further occurrences of these problems in the future.
In addition, the recent update enhances both client and server stability, resolving vulnerabilities that enabled players to unintentionally accumulate experience rapidly via strategic locations and generate duplicate items through social areas. The new version, 1.1.17.0, is actually the seventh update or hotfix released for Dune: Awakening in July 2025. Despite some ongoing issues, particularly in PvP modes, Funcom continues to demonstrate commitment to addressing player-driven improvements.
