As an experienced gamer who has ventured through countless dungeons and slain countless monsters, I must say that Dungeon Done has turned my world upside down. Instead of being a hero with legendary weapons, I’ve found myself as a scavenger, navigating traps and outsmarting monsters in this unique PvE Co-op Horror Extraction game. The game has a certain charm that reminds me of the unpredictable moments in life—you never know what you’ll encounter next!
Launched on Steam Early Access on December 5, the game titled “Dungeon Done” is a PvE Co-op Horror Extraction creation by Groovy Moai. Instead of following the usual dungeon formula where you kill monsters, gain levels, and collect loot, this game offers something different.
In the game “Dungeon Done“, you’ll step into the shoes of a scavenger, not a traditional hero. Instead of embarking on grand adventures, your task is to revisit dungeons that have already been cleared by other adventurers. The aim is to collect treasures that they overlooked or left behind. Unlike heroes who wield legendary weapons and cast epic spells, your main assets are your cleverness and agility. Rather than vanquishing monsters, you’ll need to outwit them or skillfully navigate dangerous traps to stay alive.
It’s not always possible to steer clear of every confrontation in the game. Each monster and trap possesses distinctive characteristics that need to be understood and utilized. For example, some monsters are particularly reactive to light, meaning you may have to turn off your flashlight or lamp to remain unnoticed. Mastering these subtleties is crucial for navigating through each dungeon successfully.
In “Dungeon Done,” the experience is optimized when played in a group rather than solo. Navigating the dungeon’s challenges becomes less daunting (and more enjoyable) with companions, as teamwork and strategic planning can significantly enhance your chances of victory. The game facilitates voice communication and accommodates 4 to 6 players working together on missions, making collaboration a key aspect. There’s no player-versus-player action in this game; instead, it encourages the classic bonding experience that comes with teamwork.
In Dungeon Done, just as in real life, your strategies often don’t follow the script. Reminiscent of the tumultuous events in Lethal Company, you’ll encounter a multitude of exciting, hilarious, and unexpected situations while navigating traps and monsters with your comrades. Whether it’s a moment of heart-pounding fear or a fit of laughter at the absurdity, these instances frequently become the essence of the game—perhaps even more cherished than the treasures themselves.
From my perspective as an ardent fan, it’s not about being a mighty hero with unmatched power—I’m more of a resourceful scavenger, relying on swift wit, collective wisdom, and perhaps a pinch of good fortune. The key to survival is adaptability, strategic thinking, and ensuring that my team avoids carrying any undue burdens. But when we do manage to break free from the labyrinth, the rewards—treasure and knowledge—make every challenge worthwhile.
As I scour the virtual lands, earning experience points is crucial for me to advance my scavenger rank and gain access to new missions that amplify my abilities. Yearning for a swifter stride, more capacity for booty, or extended endurance? These enhancements let me tailor my character to match my preferred gaming approach. Meanwhile, the loot I gather can be traded in for gold, a currency that’s vital for procuring necessary gear such as torches and invisibility potions, plus amusing items like healing wands to aid teammates.
Furthermore, you can accumulate your gold for an exciting reason: unique costumes! Ranging from luminous skeleton ensembles to clown suits or even isekai tracksuits, Dungeon Done provides a wardrobe filled with whimsy that surpasses the ordinary medieval armor. The joy of collecting them is undeniable.
In the Pre-Release version, you’ll find two separate labyrinths: the Temple of the Cultists and the Avaricious Cave. Each has its own set of obstacles, featuring diverse creatures and hazards, making each playthrough feel new and thrilling as you tackle their differing difficulties.
Explore a New Perspective in Dungeon Done: This game offers an innovative take on dungeon adventuring. Whether your goal is amassing wealth and assembling a talented team of scavengers, or just sharing laugh-out-loud moments with friends, there’s something for all types of players. Why not have the best of both worlds?
