Dungeonborne hits Steam early access today

I’m thrilled to share that as a fan, I’ve learned that Mithril Interactive, the brilliant developer behind it, has officially launched Dungeonborne on Steam in its early access stage. This intriguing PvPvE extraction RPG is now ready for us eager players to jump in and explore!

In the realm of medieval fantasy, Dungeonborne is filled with intrigue and complexity. Despite its complexities, it has proven successful during playtests. The publisher even reported that it was among the most popular games at the February Steam Next Fest. Additionally, it has received generally positive reviews on Steam.

In a dark fantasy world, Dungeonborne is an immersive first-person adventure where tactics from shooter games and the intensity of battle royales come together. Courageous explorers can now delve into ancient castles, either braving the perils solo or joining forces with two companions.

In Dungeonborne, the battle mechanism is smooth and complex, offering unique moves like quick advances and precise shielding, along with exploitable environmental aspects such as elevated positions and hidden traps. With significant consequences for losing, triumph in this game necessitates thoughtful planning, clever application of character classes, and proficiency in managing its intricate combat mechanics.

Eight distinct player classes have been introduced in the game at launch: Fighter, Priest, Rogue, Swordmaster, Pyromancer, Cryomancer, Death Knight, and Druid. The developers assure us that every class comes equipped with its own exclusive set of spells and abilities, resulting in a wide range of gaming approaches and tactics. Furthermore, there are ten distinct weapon combinations available, along with over 80 individual items that can significantly alter the way a class operates.

Based on feedback from the recent playtests, the developer has implemented the following changes:

  • A new multi-skill system offering expanded options for each class
  • New active skills for Fighter, Death Knight, Rogue, Cryomancer, and Priest
  • Comprehensive class and weapon balance adjustments
  • Itemization improvements to enhance the gameplay experience
  • PvE enhancements and matchmaking lobby improvements
  • Client/server optimization
  • Addition of a new South America server region

“According to Elvis, Lead Producer at Mithril Interactive, the Early Access release signifies a significant milestone in the development of Dungeonborne. This stage allows us to collaborate with our dedicated fanbase in further enhancing and adjusting the game. The enhancements made based on playtesting are merely the start; we’re fully invested in ongoing advancements, ensuring an exceptional extraction RPG journey for both seasoned players and beginners.”

Dungeonborne is out now on PC via Steam early access, and is free to play.
