In Arknights: Endfield, the side quest ‘Dusty Old Files’ begins while you’re working on the main story. A crew member, Kitt, needs help finding some lost research papers. Because the base isn’t secure, Endmins can assist you in locating the Research Data Files, which will finish the ‘Dusty Old Files’ quest.

Dusty Old Files Quest In Arknights Endfield

During the “Walk in the Park” quest, you’ll find a worried crew member underground. He, Kitt, wants to get his research data back, but his colleagues, the Endmins, won’t let him because the area is full of enemies and too dangerous.

First Research Data File Location

Proceed left and hit the weak point to remove the Aether obstacle.

Bypass the laser trap by jumping over the lower one when the higher one goes up.

Okay, so I headed down the hallway and found an office. Just followed the quest marker, and that led me right to the first Research Data File in Arknights: Endfield. Pretty straightforward!

The files need to be repaired, so solve the puzzle by placing the components on the board.

Second Research Data File Location

Go to the lab and don’t move forward until the lasers are gone. Then, repeat those steps to get inside.

Approach the desk and repair the second Research Data File.

Same as before, drag the components onto the board and the puzzle is solved.

Last Research Data File Location

Continue following the question mark until you reach the hallway filled with lasers. Wait for the lasers to retract, then quickly go into the room on your left. This is where players will start losing contact with Kitt.

Move closer to the desk and pick up the gold object, but remember it’s not the Research Data File you need. You’ll have to find Endmins to get the correct file. You can look at the other file for information, and break open the crates to collect materials.

Once the laser beams retract, climb onto the crates. Then, jump over the laser grid and immediately turn right to reach a safe area.

Chat with the researcher Harper. If you’re given three choices, pick the third option—this will assist Harper and reward you with the final Research Data File. You can also find an Orginium Circuitry Component Style nearby, though it’s optional and not required for the quest.

Okay, so I just opened that chest nearby, and now the game is telling me to head outside the lab to find Kitt. Once I track him down, I need to send him those files – that should finish up the ‘Dusty Old Files’ quest. Fingers crossed it works!
