As a seasoned survivor of the post-apocalyptic wasteland that is Dying Light 2, I can’t help but feel a surge of holiday cheer with the return of the “Winter Tales: Gifts from Above 2024” event. The festive activities and special rewards, like the Killer Krampus Outfit and the legendary Skoll, are just the sweetener on top of an already fantastic game.
2024’s “Winter Tales: Gifts from Above” Christmas-themed event in “Dying Light 2” is now active, allowing players to engage in holiday activities and gather unique prizes for a short period. Previously, the creators of “Dying Light 2,” Techland, referred to the last Winter Tales event as a present and heartfelt message to their dedicated community.
Techland has just rolled out update 1.20 for their game, Dying Light 2. This update brings some enhancements to the initial storyline and resolves various problems. Simultaneously, they’ve announced that the Winter Tales event is making a comeback in their widely-played open-world zombie survival game.
In Dying Light 2, players can acquire exclusive items such as the Killer Krampus Outfit by finishing tasks assigned by vendor Baka and gathering festive ornaments during “Winter Tales: Gifts from Above 2024”. Collected Winter Sweets throughout the event can be traded for various rewards, including the Skoll, a renowned slashing weapon in Dying Light 2, and the Punisher. The upcoming “Winter Tales” event will bring back the distinctive boss Uncle Snow and his infected followers, along with a fresh zombie type that focuses on long-range attacks known as the Ice Spitter.
Holiday-themed Winter Tales Event Returns to Dying Light 2 in 2024
In the spirit of the present season, players of Dying Light 2 can grab the Above the Law Bundle at no cost until January 2nd, when “Winter Tales: Gifts from Above 2024” concludes, as announced by Techland. Typically, this bundle containing the Peacekeeper Outfit, two blueprints, and a paraglider skin could be bought using DL Points, which is the premium in-game currency for Dying Light 2.
Techland’s latest update, version 1.19, brought a Halloween spin to the Tower Raid game mode in Dying Light 2, transforming the first-person shooter into a roguelike experience. This version introduced a new final boss, additional floor types, and unique playable characters with distinct loadouts and characteristics. Additionally, this update fixed bugs, enhanced user experience, and made various other adjustments.
Back in August, I got some exciting news as a gamer – Techland officially revealed “Dying Light: The Beast,” a new standalone game starring the original hero from the franchise, Kyle Crane. Initially planned as an expansion for “Dying Light 2,” this upcoming title grew in scale after a story leak led Techland to reconsider the direction of the proposed DLC’s narrative. If you picked up the Ultimate Edition of “Dying Light 2,” you can look forward to playing “Dying Light: The Beast” at no additional cost!
