Okay, so I just got the power plant working again in *Dying Light: The Beast*, and now I’ve got this quest called ‘The Cable Guy.’ Basically, I need to hit up an electrical substation and get power flowing to a bigger area. It sounds simple enough, but there’s one part that tripped me up – figuring out *where* to actually get the power *from* to connect everything. This guide will walk you through exactly what I did to finish ‘The Cable Guy’ in *Dying Light: The Beast*, so you don’t get stuck like I did!
Dying Light: The Beast ‘The Cable Guy’ Quest Guide
First, make your way to the electrical substation – it’s clearly marked on your map. Be prepared, though, as the area is overrun with undead enemies. Before you try to restore power, it’s best to eliminate all the enemies inside and around the small building in the center of the image.
Okay, so when I’m playing, the first zombies I always take care of are the ones in red suits – they’re super annoying because they spit stuff at you! Once they’re down, I like to jump down onto the top of that substation building. Then, I just wait for the faster zombies to come close and start hacking away with my favorite melee weapon. It’s a pretty solid strategy!
If you’re facing a large, strong enemy with a hammer, Molotov cocktails are effective for dealing with them from a safe distance. They’re also useful for quickly eliminating any remaining zombies in the area.
Okay, with those guys dealt with, let’s head over to that little substation building. I need to pick the lock on the roof to get inside. It’s a pretty simple lock, thankfully, so it shouldn’t give me too much trouble. And if I *do* run out of lockpicks, no biggie – I can always make more in the crafting menu.
Now that you’ve opened the door, go inside and take the blueprint for the ‘Flame’ mod, along with a reinforced camp axe and other useful items from the container. Once you’ve searched the substation, climb back out the way you came, then head to the southeast corner of the area. You’ll find an electrical pylon with a small metal platform on top.
Okay, so to get there, I jumped onto that generator-looking thing on the left of the screen. Then, I hopped onto the streetlight and climbed all the way up. From the top of that, I jumped over to this electrical pylon. There’s a cable there, and I connected it to both the pylon and the system inside the substation building. After that, I jumped onto the substation’s roof, dropped inside, and connected the cable to the machine on the north wall – you literally can’t miss it, it’s right under where I came in through the roof hatch.
