Although there was an initial delay, the developer of Dying Light: The Beast, Techland, has chosen to advance the game’s release date by a single day. Originally scheduled for August 22, the next installment in the Dying Light series on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC was pushed back to September 19. However, with over 1 million pre-orders, Techland has decided to bring the release of The Beast forward a day, making it available on September 18 instead.
Despite The Beast not officially being Dying Light 3, Techland is handling it as if it were, explaining the high levels of excitement and expectation for this upcoming game. When Game Rant recently conversed with the Techland team, they highlighted that they “didn’t shy away” during the development of Dying Light: The Beast. They mentioned that they have gone all out in creating spectacular cutscenes, spared no resources when introducing new features, and even pushed the technical aspects, expressing immense pride in the game’s graphics.
Dying Light: The Beast Will Now Launch September 18
Initially scheduled for August 22, Techland’s upcoming game, Dying Light: The Beast, has been pushed back to September 19. However, in an unexpected turn of events, the developer announced that the game will now launch a day early on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC – on September 18. This decision was made to celebrate the achievement of over 1 million pre-orders for the game, as stated by Techland in a recent Twitter post. The official release times for Dying Light: The Beast can be found below.
In their latest announcement, Techland hinted at an additional treat for individuals who pre-order Dying Light: The Beast ahead of its release. While the nature of this surprise is still unknown, it’s been promised as an “exclusive new reward.” On a separate note, players who pre-order the game early will also receive the ‘Hero of Harran’ bundle, featuring the Ultimate Survivor Outfit, Harran Combat Knife, The Follower Crossbow, In Jade’s Memory Pistol, and Castor Woods Patrol Vehicle. More details about the mystery reward are expected to be unveiled next week.

Originally planned as downloadable content for Dying Light 2: Stay Human, the game Dying Light: The Beast has grown into a standalone AAA title. To keep good on their promise to those who bought the Ultimate Edition of the sequel, Techland will be offering The Beast at no extra cost to all owners of the now discontinued Dying Light 2 Ultimate Edition. When it is released next week, The Beast will automatically appear in players’ libraries. Additionally, those with the Dying Light 2 Ultimate Edition will receive the Hero of Harran pre-order bonus free of charge.
