Techland, the developer of *Dying Light: The Beast*, has announced it’s preparing a quick update to fix the issue of zombies grabbing players too often. While the game has been well-received since its release earlier this month, players have reported that some zombies are excessively aggressive with their grabbing attacks, and this update aims to address that.
Following a delay from its initial release date, *Dying Light: The Beast* launched on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on September 18th. Unlike the somewhat divisive second game, *Dying Light: The Beast* has been very well-received by both reviewers and players. Players are especially enjoying the enhanced parkour, the beautiful new map, and the intense new beast mode. In fact, according to Metacritic, *Dying Light: The Beast* is now the highest-rated main game in the *Dying Light* series.
Dying Light: The Beast Update Will Tone Down Grabbing Zombies
Even though *Dying Light: The Beast* has received a lot of positive feedback, it wasn’t without issues at launch. Techland has already released several updates in the first week to fix problems with how the game runs, a broken day/night cycle, and a strange bug that caused indoor rain. They’ve already made some adjustments to how often zombies grab players, and now they’re planning more changes. According to a recent update, Techland wants to keep zombies challenging but ensure encounters with them are fair.
Techland is updating Dying Light: The Beast to improve how zombies grab players. They’ve made it so damage happens a little later during a grab, giving you more time to break free without getting hurt. When you start a fight, zombies will be less likely to immediately try and grab you. Also, zombies will now give a clearer signal before attempting a grab from a distance.
We don’t have a specific release date for the update yet, but Techland says it’s almost ready and they’re hoping to launch it early next week. If everything goes smoothly, the patch should be available in the next few days. They’re also working on other improvements and fixes, including reducing stuttering and frame rate issues. PC players of *Dying Light: The Beast* will be happy to hear that performance in demanding scenes is also getting a boost. Techland will share the full patch notes once the update is live.
