In honor of the 10-year anniversary of the Dying Light series, developer Techland announced an exciting plan for 2025. This blueprint hints at fresh developments in store for Dying Light 2: Stay Human, along with the anticipated debut of Dying Light: The Beast.
As a hardcore gamer, I’ve always found myself torn between Dying Light and Dead Island due to their striking similarities, but the unique selling point of Dying Light lies in its emphasis on parkour-centric exploration and the chilling atmosphere it creates with its undead-infested environment. Now, Techland is taking the franchise to new heights with a spin-off titled Dying Light: The Beast, slated for release in 2025. This fresh take on the series could potentially broaden its appeal and keep longtime fans on the edge of their seats.
I’m thrilled to share that Techland has shown their belief in the Dying Light franchise by unveiling an impressive content plan for the series up until 2025. This roadmap includes updates and events for Dying Light 2: Stay Human, such as the return of the Winter Tales event. But that’s not all – Techland has also announced the summer 2025 release of Dying Light: The Beast, which they’re planning as part of their celebration of the series’ 10th anniversary this year. It’s an exciting time to be a fan!
Dying Light 2025 Roadmap Promotes New Dying Light 2 Events And Dying Light: The Beast Launch
2025 plans for the game “Dying Light” will initially focus on events and special offers for its sequel, “Dying Light 2,” as part of its 10th anniversary celebration. This includes temporary gameplay modes such as Hypermode and Double XP, Low Gravity, and viral rush, along with giveaways via the “Dying Light 2” Pilgrim Outpost hub throughout February 2025. The festivities will conclude with the permanent introduction of the “Tower Raid” mode in “Dying Light 2” and a “Light Up The Night” stream on February 19, 2025.
In summer 2025, we can anticipate the release of “Dying Light: The Beast.” Meanwhile, “Dying Light 2” has plans for two significant updates in spring and fall 2025, along with three seasonal events happening throughout the year, themed around summer, Halloween, and a revival of the Winter Tales event. In addition to these seasonal events, smaller updates will focus on enhancing graphics, performance, cooperative play, and matchmaking, introducing new Tower Raid characters, offering free outfits and gear, supporting community maps, and adding new weapons, including a new weapon class. The release timeline for these updates has not been confirmed yet, but they are expected to be announced as the year progresses.
Enthusiasm for the Dying Light series remains high, as evidenced by the fact that Dying Light 2 was one of PS Plus’ top-played games when it debuted on the service two years post-release. This strong interest likely explains Techland’s decision to continue developing updates for the game, in addition to releasing Dying Light: The Beast. Hopefully, this continued success will solidify Dying Light as a prominent title throughout the next decade.
