As a passionate gamer, I’ve heard some concerning rumors about my favorite game developers, EA and DICE. Allegedly, they’ve been under fire for incorporating real-life images from the conflict in Gaza into the artwork of Battlefield 2025, which is quite troubling to me. It’s essential that game development respects the gravity of real-world events and avoids using them as mere backdrops or assets.
As a keen follower of game releases, I couldn’t help but notice the striking resemblance pointed out by EmadAlden when he examined the promotional artwork. The observation made by DANNYonPC that the company might be using images from conflicts in Gaza for their art caught my attention as well. It certainly raises some intriguing questions about the sourcing and appropriateness of their visual materials.
The post states: “Wow, it seems that DICE is using images from the 2021 Gaza bombings for their Battlefield 2025 artwork.” It then displays the specific image, which was captured by Reuters on May 12, 2021 during a bombing incident in Gaza.
You can see the images yourself below for comparison.
As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but express my puzzlement over a decision that seems dubious to many in the gaming community. The artwork used by TopMob appears to reference real-world conflicts, which, while it’s probably unintentional, might raise eyebrows. In an effort to clarify this situation, I’ve reached out to several contacts at EA for comment on these claims. If I receive a response, I’ll be sure to update this story promptly.
