As a gamer, I’ve just learned that in the latest alpha version of Skate, EA has slipped in microtransactions. They sent out a message to us players hinting at an “epic gameplay upgrade” and other “thrilling” changes to the game.
In simpler terms, the developers at Full Circle have introduced an in-game purchase system (microtransactions) within the ongoing Closed Alpha testing phase. This information was shared with players and subsequently made available to us (TopMob).
As a dedicated gamer, I’m all about that San Van Bucks! This unique in-game currency lets me splurge on some snazzy cosmetic goodies. Full Circle assures us this addition is to ensure an enjoyable shopping spree at the skate store, enhancing our gaming experience.
In order to help us reach our objectives during Early Access, we’ve made it possible for you to buy and use a virtual currency called San Van Bucks in our ongoing Closed Alpha testing phase. Your valuable input will significantly contribute to creating an excellent experience when we officially launch Early Access.
Since the game is currently being playtested, it’s important to note that your account progress may occasionally be wiped out and completely reset before it enters Early Access. Any money spent on San Van Bucks, which are then used for items, will be converted back into San Van Bucks and will be re-credited to you at the beginning of the Early Access phase.
In order for you to access them, it’s essential that you utilize a single Early Access (EA) account for both playtesting and Early Access purposes.
It’s planned for EA Skate to launch around 2025. Once it’s out, you can enjoy playing it without cost on both PC and gaming consoles. Additionally, there are expectations that the game will be accessible on mobile devices as well.
