Electronic Arts (EA) is closing down five of its games this month, so players who want to experience their online features should do so quickly. EA has already shut down several games this year, including one at the very beginning of the year that many fans found disappointing.
It’s always disappointing when a game is discontinued, but the recent shutdown of The Simpsons: Tapped Out really upset a lot of fans. Many people signed a petition and created videos pleading with EA to keep the mobile game running, but those efforts weren’t successful. The game officially stopped working in January 2025.
EA is continuing to shut down older games, and now five more titles are scheduled to go offline in November 2025. Four of these – Dirt Showdown, Dirt 3, Grid Autosport, and Grid 2 – will lose online access on November 8th, making it a tough day for racing game fans. While you’ll still be able to play these games offline, their online multiplayer features will no longer be available.
List of EA Games Shutting Down This Month

- Dirt Showdown – November 8
- Dirt 3 – November 8
- Grid Autosport – November 8
- Grid 2 – November 8
- EA Sports FC Empires – November 30
EA is closing down another one of its games in November, and this time it’s EA Sports FC Empires. The game will no longer be playable after November 30th. While this shutdown is unfortunate for players, it probably won’t be as upsetting as the recent news about four racing games being discontinued on November 8th. That’s because EA Sports FC Empires was only released in a limited number of countries, but anyone who enjoyed the game will still be sad to see it go.
Okay, so as far as I know, EA Sports FC Empires is looking like the last game EA’s gonna shut down for 2025. They haven’t said anything about shutting down games in December, which is good news for us players – hopefully, we’re safe until 2026. But, and this is a bummer, they’ve already announced two games getting the axe in 2026, and honestly, I’m expecting that list to get a lot longer. It’s kinda frustrating, you know?
EA is closing down its game Anthem in 2026. This online shooter, created by BioWare, will no longer be playable after January 12th. While Anthem didn’t achieve the success hoped for, it’s still disappointing to see a game from a well-known developer like BioWare permanently shut down.

On January 30th, the servers for NBA Live 19 will be permanently taken offline. It’s common for EA to discontinue support for its sports and racing games, so this isn’t unexpected. However, NBA Live 19 is the most recent basketball game EA has made, and there’s no word yet on a new version. Because other EA sports titles usually have successors available, this shutdown might be particularly disappointing for fans.
EA players should prioritize enjoying the online features of games that are being discontinued this month, as time is limited. If you’re aiming to earn all the trophies or achievements in these games, now’s the time to do it, because after the shutdowns, full completion won’t be possible.
