Based on the features presented in EA Sports FC 24/FC 25, EA Sports FC 26 promises numerous enhancements. These include a variety of extended game modes, live events that adapt dynamically, upgraded archetype systems, revamped dribbling mechanics, advanced player positioning AI, and refined animations focusing particularly on goalkeepers. In essence, EA Sports FC 26 appears to be raising the bar significantly.
In our initial review of EA Sports FC 26, Game Rant noted that this year’s version seems to be faster-paced, necessitating sharper instincts and boasting an AI system that more closely resembles real-life teammates. We had a chat with line producer Andreas Wilsdorf and career mode design director Peter O’Donnel about the upcoming release, and they hinted at some exciting features, such as its planned launch on the Nintendo Switch 2.
To put it simply, Wilsdorf found the power of the Nintendo Switch 2 astonishing. This was indeed a key attraction of the new device, but there’s a significant gap between hearing about a console’s capabilities, observing its potential through developer kits, and actually playing a game in its optimal state. According to Wilsdorf, the performance of the Nintendo Switch 2 is almost on par with that of EA Sports FC 26 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox consoles.
Parity Between PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series Versions of the Game
In his own words, Wilsdorf explained,
Overall, the Switch 2 has been quite thrilling. Sharing a stage with FC this year, its performance is truly captivating. It matches up remarkably well with the PS5 and Xbox in terms of capabilities. Interestingly, it’s a handheld console, yet I was genuinely amazed by my initial experience with it. Additionally, we noticed that its simulation speed and season simulating times were remarkably close to those seen on PlayStation and Xbox development kits, which is truly impressive.
Indeed, Nintendo Switch 2 enthusiasts have something to look forward to! The Nintendo Switch 2 has already managed to sell approximately 6 million units, and fans who prefer this hybrid console over traditional ones will soon be able to play EA Sports FC 26 with near-equal performance as other consoles. This is fantastic news for fans, and the good part is that the game’s release date isn’t too far off – you can get your hands on EA Sports FC 26 starting September 26!
