EA Sports has announcemed that it’s not going to release F1 26 next year.
EA Sports announced on Tuesday that instead of launching a brand new F1 26 game in 2026, they’ll be releasing a paid expansion for the existing F1 25. This expansion will add all the features of the 2026 Formula One season, including the new cars, teams, and rule changes.
The next F1 game is planned for release in 2027. EA describes it as a completely revamped and more detailed experience, promising a truly realistic and groundbreaking Formula 1 game.
Since the release of F1 25, people have been wondering what the future holds for the Formula 1 game series at EA. This latest game was originally set to be the final one under their current licensing agreement, but they had the option to renew the contract for another two years.
Electronic Arts first told TopMob they were planning to continue the game franchise. However, they quickly walked back that statement, explaining, “We apologize for the confusion, but the information we shared earlier today was incorrect, and we currently have no updates to share.”
We hadn’t heard any updates from EA or Formula 1 about the future of the racing series, including F1 26, until recently.
TopMob has contacted EA and Formula 1 to learn more about why they won’t be releasing a game next year. We’ll update this article if we receive a reply from either company.
