EA Sports UFC 5 Update 1.12 Adds Four New Fighters

EA Sports UFC 5 Update 1.12 Adds Four New Fighters

Highlights

  • EA Sports UFC 5 will introduce 4 new fighters and some alter egos in the August update to expand roster and gameplay options.
  • Previous complaints about lack of ranked fighters has been addressed with a steady stream of patch updates adding new stars.
  • The new update also fixes a ranked match glitch, adds fighter alter egos, gameplay updates, and miscellaneous vanity rewards.

As a seasoned gamer and UFC enthusiast, I can’t help but be thrilled with the latest update coming our way on August 7th (or maybe it should be the 9th, who knows?). The new fighters joining the roster are a testament to the game’s continuous growth, and the returning champions in their custom-designed fight shorts make each match feel more personal and meaningful.

As a die-hard fan excitedly speaking about EA Sports UFC 5, I’m thrilled to share that they have revealed their latest update is bringing in four fresh fighters to the ever-growing roster! Not only are we getting new fighters, but throughout August, fans of UFC 5 will discover an array of brand-new personas gracing the beloved mixed martial arts game.

Initially, when Electronic Arts (EA) introduced UFC 5 in 2023, one major issue that the community raised about this much-awaited sequel was the absence of ranked fighters. Although EA Vancouver had included renowned boxers like Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson in UFC 5, they overlooked real UFC fighters who held positions in their respective weight classes. However, EA took notice of players’ concerns and has been consistently introducing new fighters to the game, thanks to regular patch updates.

Previously, UFC 5 updates have introduced rising talents like Ian Garry and Mike Malott, and the next update appears to follow suit. In a recent blog post by EA, the development team announced that the upcoming UFC 5 update will introduce four new fighters, implement several gameplay adjustments, and also welcome some new personas. The four new fighters joining in patch 1.12 include 25-year-old Payton Talbott, emerging light heavyweight star Vitor Petrino, ranked women’s flyweight Karine Silva at number eleven, and bantamweight Ricky Simon. Additionally, EA has unveiled the first sneak peek of a new persona for Paddy Pimblett, who recently defeated lightweight fighter Bobby Green.

  • Payton Talbott
  • Vitor Petrino
  • Karine Silva
  • Ricky Simon

It appears that EA has yet to disclose statistics for these upcoming additions in the game. Since most of them are currently unranked, it’s unlikely they will become top-tier fighters in UFC 5. However, some prominent figures from UFC history are slated to get new personas throughout August, such as Rashad Evans, Leon Edwards, Forrest Griffin, Diego Sanchez, and others. The debut persona will be the UFC 304 edition of Paddy Pimblett, sporting his signature orange shorts in the lightweight category.

In the latest update, UFC 5 doesn’t bring any balance changes, but professional gamers should rejoice as a significant issue with ranked matches has been resolved. With the arrival of update 1.12, players will no longer have access to their opponent’s chosen fighter prior to starting an online ranked contest.

UFC 5 August 2024 Update Patch Notes

Alter Egos

August 7

At UFC 304, Paddy Pimblett (Lightweight division) is paying tribute to one of his favorite PRIDE FC fighters. This “King beyond the Wall” recently clinched victory at UFC 304 while sporting unique, vibrant fight shorts.

August 13

In simple terms, Forrest Griffin was one of the initial winners of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF), and his final fight in that season significantly boosted the popularity of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in 2005, when he competed at Light Heavyweight.

Diego Sanchez, the inaugural The Ultimate Fighter winner (season 1, 2005), kicked off his impressive MMA career here. Known as “The Nightmare,” Sanchez would later engage in numerous thrilling battles within the Octagon, but this marked the beginning of it all for him.

In the second season of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF 2) back in 2005, “Suga” Rashad Evans showcased his natural skills as a light heavyweight, going up against some colossal opponents. Despite their size advantage, he emerged victorious in the TUF 2 Finale. This demonstrates that heart and determination can overcome physical stature when it comes to winning.

As a gamer, I stepped into the Octagon at UFC 304 wearing a unique pair of fight shorts – they were a symbolic blend of my roots and where I call home now. Sporting both the Jamaican and Union Jack Flags, these shorts proudly represented the land of my birth and the country that’s embraced me. (Leon Edwards – 2024)

August 20

As a gamer, I’d rephrase it like this:

August 27

At UFC 303, Ian Machado Garry, also known as his alter ego, made a striking entrance with his unique purple fight shorts. These custom-made shorts were a nod to his past battles on the regional fighting circuits, and they helped him secure a win that night. As “The Future” continues to shine, so do his eye-catching custom shorts!

New Fighters

AUGUST 7

Payton Talbott (BW)

Vitor Petrino (LHW)

Karine Silva (#11 WFW)

Ricky Simon (BW)

And a sneak peek of the fighters coming in September, just in time for Riyadh Season Noche UFC:

SEPTEMBER

Manuel Torres (LW)

Tabatha Ricci (#11 WSW)

Daniel Zellhuber (LW)

According to the information in the patch notes, it seems like the new UFC 5 update is scheduled for release on August 9th. However, there might be a mistake in the date as several other sources indicate that the actual release could be on August 7th instead.
