As a longtime Skate enthusiast who’s been riding virtual rails since the original release, I can hardly contain my excitement as EA’s Full Circle team gears up for the launch of Skate in early access next year! The prospect of finally getting my hands on this game, which has been tantalizingly out of reach for far too long, is like a dream come true.
For quite some time now, the Full Circle team at EA has diligently worked on the upcoming edition of the Skate series. Excitingly, they’ve recently declared that this eagerly awaited game is set to debut in an early access format in 2025.
In 2022, the game developer Full Circle styled their project as skate. They revealed that it would be a live service game where players can engage for free. This means individuals from any budget bracket can jump into the game and have a skating experience with friends.
Although it’s not yet confirmed, a significant portion of the game’s revenue is likely to come from cosmetic items. Moreover, the developers assure us that they will avoid any form of pay-to-win mechanics in the game.
Ever since 2020, the buzz surrounding this game has been off the charts, and it’s only gotten louder! Fast forward to the heart of 2023, a fellow Redditor dropped some intriguing concept art and screenshots, hinting at in-game cosmetics that have me pumped!
The art style was definitely quite different to past Skate games, but refreshing nonetheless.
One of the most exciting things about this upcoming Skate title is that it will be playable on PC.
While skateboarding titles like Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 and Driftwoodare available on PC, there’s nothing quite like Skate.
Skate Ollies Into Early Access In 2025
In a brief video post on social media platforms, the creators of Skate have shared an update: the game is set to enter Early Access in the year 2025. Essentially, this indicates that a complete launch isn’t too distant.
According to EA:
“Over the last two years, the team has welcomed tens of thousands of individual playtesters into the city of San Vansterdam via the PC version, with console playtesting set to come in the Fall of 2024.”
Skate. is also set to launch on PlayStation and Xbox platforms, with cross-platform play functionality. The testing phase for these console versions will commence towards the end of this year, specifically during the Fall season.
