Eidos Montreal is Developing an Unannounced ‘AAAA’ Game in Unreal Engine 5

A LinkedIn post from someone working at Edios Montreal suggests the studio is developing a high-budget, next-generation game – referred to as ‘AAAA’ – using the Unreal Engine 5.

Timur222 shared this information on X, and it matches what I’ve been hearing about the project.

In December 2025, I shared on X that recent layoffs at Eidos Montreal appeared to be linked to a game project called P11. The team working on P11 has been shrinking as it nears the beta testing phase and eventual release.

Eidos Montreal is working on a new game, codenamed P11, that’s been in development since approximately 2019. The project has encountered several challenges and cost a substantial amount of money – reportedly hundreds of millions of dollars – justifying its classification as a ‘AAAA’ title.

The game is a third-person, open-world action-adventure, as discussed on the TopMob podcast.

I actually discovered this game while researching cancelled video games for a book I’m writing. It reminded me a lot of a cancelled survival game called WiLD, developed by Wild Sheet Studio. I initially thought the same company, Eidos Montreal/Embracer, might have acquired the idea, but it seems that project is no longer happening. This new game, P11, appears to be a completely fresh IP, though it shares some noticeable similarities with WiLD.

Honestly, we still don’t know exactly when they’ll show off P11, but if everything goes smoothly with development, I’m hoping we’ll get a look at it later this year. Fingers crossed!
