One Piece,” a globally recognized manga series that started in 1997, boasts over 1100 published chapters to date. Unlike many long-running series, the quality has remained exceptional thanks to Eiichiro Oda’s tireless effort and commitment. However, one aspect of the series is causing concern among fans: the author’s health.
Eiichiro Oda’s Physical Health Is Not In the Best Shape
Eiichiro Oda is deeply committed to his work on One Piece and its fan community, having invested numerous years into the series. However, it appears that he maintains an unconventional sleep pattern, resting from 9AM to 12PM, which translates to a mere three hours of rest each day. Health recommendations advise at least seven hours of sleep per night, and Oda seems to be falling short of this ideal amount.
It’s no wonder that Oda faces health issues, given his constant workload every week without adequate rest. He’s recently been taking more breaks, which is beneficial, but it seems like he’s merely trying to minimize the harm. The real solution for Oda lies in extended periods of rest, and that can only be achieved by… well, taking a long break.
Eiichiro Oda Needs To End One Piece For His Own Sake
The Author Needs To Finish The Manga Before Things Get Worse
Eiichiro Oda can truly relax and recuperate once he completes the One Piece manga series. He has been dedicated to this project for many years, and he deserves an extended period of rest. However, he seems hesitant because he doesn’t want to let down his fans. Despite his kind intentions, it’s crucial that he takes care of his health first. The fans of One Piece are understanding about Oda’s situation, and they would be supportive if the author decided to take an extended break. In the end, a person’s life is more valuable than any manga series.
Fans of One Piece have noticed that several manga creators have faced health problems due to neglecting their well-being for prolonged periods. Yoshihiro Togashi, the creator of Hunter x Hunter, is a notable example who has struggled with numerous health issues as a result of overworking for many years. After going on an extended break, he returned with a few new chapters but soon took another hiatus after only a brief time. It’s clear that his health is not in its former state, yet he continues to strive to provide new content for fans. Eiichiro Oda should take Togashi’s situation into account and prioritize his own health more diligently.
When Will The One Piece Manga End?
The One Piece Manga Might End In 2030

By 2022, Oda had hinted that the One Piece series would conclude within three years, yet there’s still plenty left unresolved. The Grand Finale of One Piece has commenced, and given the multitude of loose ends, it may well be another 4–5 years before the manga comes to a close. Despite our collective eagerness for the story’s end, it seems that’s the only way to give Oda some respite. He’s loath to disappoint fans, which is why an extended hiatus is unlikely.
Once One Piece concludes, Shonen Jump may need to introduce a fresh series capable of matching the significant influence that Oda’s masterpiece has had. Several potential candidates are already in the running, among them include:
- Ichi the Witch
- Kagurabachi
- Dandadan
- Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi
Over time, additional series may contribute to Weekly Shonen Jump by Shueisha. Given that these new titles will face considerable expectations, not all of them will be successful, but Shueisha should continue their efforts. For now, One Piece serves as a strong foundation for the magazine, helping it stay ahead of its competitors.
One Piece is available to read on Shonen Jump+.
