Ekos Volume 2 Reveals Vivid David Mack Cover Art [EXCLUSIVE]

Game Rant is excited to share a first look at the cover of Ekos Volume 2, illustrated by David Mack. Fans can check it out now before the comic book launches its Kickstarter campaign in late October 2025.

Ekos is a new storytelling world—spanning comics and other media—created by the minds behind popular comic books. It’s a collaboration between Aspen Comics and David Maisel, a founder of Marvel Studios. The first comic book in the Ekos series launched in August 2025, following a very successful Kickstarter campaign that raised over $238,000—nearly five times its original goal—from 1,768 supporters.

Ekos Vol. 2 Reveals Cover Ahead of Kickstarter Launch

Aspen Comics has given Game Rant an exclusive first look at the cover for Ekos Volume 2 before launching another crowdfunding campaign. The striking artwork is by David W. Mack, known for creating Kabuki and his work on Daredevil, and he also created a cover for the first Ekos volume. The cover features a watercolor style, with a strong focus on blues and reds that blend together with gentle shading to create a dreamy, atmospheric effect.

Throughout his career, Mack has worked in a variety of art styles, from detailed illustrations to the more energetic images he created for Marvel Comics. The cover for *Ekos Volume 2* really showcases this diverse approach, blending accurate depictions of the human body with touches of impressionism. Similar to the first book, this new comic is planned to have several different cover options.

The story in *Ekos Volume 2* will follow on from the first book, continuing the main character’s adventures. The previous volume introduced readers to characters created by Michael Turner, like the popular Grace from *Soulfire* and Aspen from *Fathom* – both featured on the cover art. *Ekos* is the first time these characters have all appeared together in one shared universe, and *Volume 2* will delve further into how they interact with humans and the problems within their own worlds.

The Kickstarter campaign for *Ekos Volume 2* begins on October 21st and will last for 30 days. The comic is created by writer J.T. Krul, penciler Alex Konat, colorist Peter Steigerwald, letterer Josh Reed, and digital inker Mark Roslan. Following the success of the *Ekos Volume 1* campaign, *Volume 2* will also offer rewards for backers, such as art prints, stickers, extra pages, and trading cards. Specific details about these rewards will be announced soon. The complete *Ekos* series is planned to include three volumes.
