Elbaf Arc in One Piece Will Be Short but Full of Major World Reveals

Summary

  • Elbaf will likely be a short arc due to major story reveals made early on in the chapter.
  • Conflict with the Gods Knights will dominate the current events in Elbaf.
  • The arc could be longer if Loki becomes an antagonist before eventually becoming a hero.

Among all the arcs in the One Piece story, none have generated as much anticipation as Elbaf. Since Little Garden, both fans and the Straw Hats themselves have eagerly awaited their journey to the Giants’ land, as Dorry and Brogy mentioned this legendary land of warriors. The narrative has further fueled excitement by weaving in tales and historical context about this place.

Upon reaching Elbaf, the intensity of the Straw Hats’ journey skyrocketed. This location not only unveiled significant plot points in the One Piece saga but also swiftly addressed many lingering questions and clarified the central conflict. Given this rapid progression, many enthusiasts speculate that the events unfolding in Elbaf will be brief, paving the way for even more substantial story developments to come.

Elbaf Will Most Likely End Up Being A Relatively Short Arc

Many Important Story Reveals Will Be Made Though

Arc Start One Piece, Chapter 1126, “Settling the Score”
Latest Chapter One Piece, Chapter 1147, “What We’re Afraid Of”

Initially, the narrative of Elbaf deviated significantly from the standard structure of “One Piece” arcs. Instead of gradually unfolding events over time, it delved into significant moments and world-altering revelations about the Final Saga almost immediately. Among these, the mural on the Adam Tree and the confirmation of a long-held fan theory – the existence of Shanks’ twin brother – were particularly striking.

Ever since then, the Gods Knights have taken action and disclosed their strategy to all. In essence, they aim to incorporate Elbaf into the World Government by abducting the children and using them as hostages, thus securing the Giants’ allegiance during the upcoming Final War. By Chapter 1147 (the most recent one at this point in time), Scopper Gaban and Robin have entered the fray against these formidable antagonists, while the Monster Trio remains in the underworld and the remaining Straw Hats have been apprehended.

Unlike many other story arcs in this series, the events of Elbaf are progressing rather swiftly. The initial fight against the main antagonists has already started after just 21 chapters, suggesting that the conclusion might arrive sooner than many fans anticipated. If Oda decides not to prolong the final battle excessively, it could indeed be a pleasant surprise to see this conflict resolved more quickly than expected.

In simpler terms, it seems that the imminent battle with the Gods Knights is expected to unfold quicker than anticipated, possibly resulting in Scopper and Robin suffering a defeat at their hands. This situation appears to set the stage for the classic trio of characters to engage with the strongest adversaries in this storyline. The latter part of the arc may then predominantly revolve around significant flashbacks that carry great importance.

They claim I went and cold-bloodedly murdered my father. Yet, I doubt that’s something you truly believe, right?

OR

They assert I intentionally took my father’s life with malice aforethought. However, I have reason to believe that isn’t a scenario you genuinely accept, correct?

The upcoming flashback in the series is closely tied to Loki’s past events, a subject that has been left hanging since Chapter 1146 ended on a suspenseful and ominous tone. During Sommers’ statement, he hinted at the late King Harald causing chaos unintentionally or perhaps deliberately. Although the specifics are yet to be clarified, many viewers believe this insinuates that King Harald was actually malicious and colluded with the Gods Knights to manipulate Elbaf’s allegiance towards the World Government. This flashback would shed light on the truth behind this theory and demonstrate how Loki was wrongly accused for all the transgressions.

Another eagerly anticipated flashback is one related to the Wano arc, where we’ll learn about the happenings at God Valley and the character background of Rocks D. Xebec. Scopper himself suggested that Luffy and Zoro come find him once they wrap up on Elbaf, as he’s one of the few who witnessed God Valley events. This could help clarify a much-debated and mysterious event. There’s also a possibility for a flashback about the Void Century, which might be revealed by Scopper given his knowledge of history, or perhaps Robin due to her time at the Owl Library.

Why This Arc May Be Just As Long As Wano, Or Even Longer

An Alternative View

  • Loki may fight against the heroes, which would be the only way the arc could go on for longer than after the battle against the Gods Knights concludes early.

On the flip side, it’s equally plausible that Elbaf could rank among the longest arcs in the series, given the intense anticipation surrounding this island, not just from within the story world but also among fans. Although the fight against the Gods Knights, who appear to be the primary antagonists for this arc, has been progressing swiftly, it’s worth noting that Luffy’s power seems significantly greater. Despite their immense power, the Celestial Dragons may not present much of a challenge for Luffy.

With Zoro and Sanji present, it seems almost impossible for this storyline to stretch out further. However, if we consider Loki’s potential involvement, this theory gains traction. Many fans speculate that Loki might temporarily play an antagonistic role before eventually joining the heroes. If this is the case, the arc could extend beyond the fight against the Gods Knights. Moreover, as a wielder of a legendary Nika fruit that possibly turns him into a destructive form of the Sun God, Loki seems to be an ideal opponent for Luffy in this scenario. This could lengthen the storyline even further.
