Elden Ring: Best Invaders In Shadow Of The Erdtree, Ranked

As a seasoned traveler in the land of Elden Ring, I’ve come across many a formidable foe, but few have left me as shaken as these three adversaries. Each one, with their unique quirks and tactics, has tested my mettle to its core.

As a seasoned gamer, I’ve grown accustomed to the thrills and challenges of FromSoftware games. When I dive into a new title, I know what to anticipate: towering bosses that test my mettle, enigmatic lore waiting to be unraveled, an endless collection of weapons hidden in unexpected places, and, of course, those pesky invaders. Some players enjoy teaming up for cooperative sessions online, while others prefer to play the lone wolf. But no matter what kind of Souls fan you are, eventually you’ll encounter these unscrupulous red phantoms, who will relentlessly pursue you in search of your hard-earned currency.

In the relentless saga of Elden Ring, the trend of formidable foes persists, with numerous NPC intruders joining the ranks, such as Festering Fingerprint Vyke who are “fairly challenging” for players. The recent addition of the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC brings an impressive 17 extra NPC adversaries to further push the limits of the Tarnished explorers. Not only do these adversaries provide a thrilling battle experience, but they also offer enticing rewards in the form of attractive loot, bestowed by the ominous figures dressed in crimson attire. Here’s a list of the top invaders from Shadow of the Erdtree, taking into account both the engaging combat encounters and the valuable items they bestow upon defeat.

6 Madding Hand

Invades In The Abyssal Woods And Inflicts Madness

  • Watch out for his incantations.
  • Keep up the pressure to stagger and interrupt him.

Stepping into the ominous Abyssal Woods is enough to make anyone uneasy, but Torrent’s reluctance to be summoned adds an extra layer of warning. The reason? This ominous forest harbors the Madding Hand, a deranged follower of the Frenzied Flame who has the power to permanently extinguish spirits. Shiver. When confronted by players, the Madding Hand employs Frenzy spells and behaves erratically, like an unhinged man possessed.

As a gamer, I can tell you that enemies without armor are a breeze to stun or inflict with status effects, but getting too close for comfort comes with its own risks. You’ll want to avoid hanging around them for extended periods since Madness isn’t something you want to experience firsthand. Keep an eye out for their casting animations and aim to disrupt them as often as possible. The Madding Hand, a weapon that inflicts the Madness status on enemies, can be found near the Woodland Trail Site of Grace. Good luck in your gaming adventure!

5 Logur, the Beast Claw

Invades In The Gravesite Plain

Elden Ring: Best Invaders In Shadow Of The Erdtree, Ranked
  • Uses leap and pounce attacks that inflict bleed.
  • Dodge instead of blocking to avoid status build-up.

In the haunting and ominous Gravesite Plain, the Tarnished will encounter the harsh truths of the war-ravaged Land of Shadow. A fierce predator lurks in the foggy forests after dark and attacks unexpectedly. Logur, the Clawed Beast, emerges with a terrifying roar and charges towards the Tarnished like a untamed animal, attacking with primal rage to overpower unsuspecting victims.

Logur’s actions set him apart and might require some practice to fully understand. He frequently employs lunges and jumps to surprise opponents, while each strike inflicts the dangerous “bleed” status that can significantly reduce health. Upon Logur’s defeat, the coveted Beast Claw weapon will be obtained, granting players access to his exclusive abilities. Valiant Tarnished can face Logur by traveling southeast from the Gravesite Plain Site of Grace during nighttime hours.

4 Fire Knight Queelign

Invades At Belurat And Church Of The Crusade

Elden Ring: Best Invaders In Shadow Of The Erdtree, Ranked
  • Wields a spear and fire-based incantations.
  • Watch out for Flame Skewer.

During your journey through the Land of Shadow as a member of The Tarnished, you may come across this faithful servant of Messmer the Impaler twice. Initially, he’ll launch an attack on you at Belurat Tower Settlement in the central square. Equipped with a spear and a fireball that homes in on its target, this adversary is vulnerable to being pressed. However, be cautious as his powerful upward strike can result in a damaging explosion. Once defeated, he’ll yield the Crusade Insignia talisman as a reward, providing a temporary increase in attack power upon killing an enemy for 20 seconds.

As a gamer, I can tell you that the Fire Knight, named Queelign, hasn’t had enough of me just yet. He makes another surprise attack as soon as I enter the Church of the Crusade. The tactics remain familiar, but the setting is different. Defeating him once more will reward me with the Prayer Room Key for Shadow Keep, and his distinctive Ash of War, Flame Skewer, will be mine to keep after the second victory.

3 Moonrithyll, Carian Knight

Invades At Castle Ensis

Elden Ring: Best Invaders In Shadow Of The Erdtree, Ranked
  • Wields a huge magical sword.
  • Patience and timing are the keys to victory.

At the chapel of Castle Ensis, Moonrithyll, as if befriending Rellana and Chamberlain, makes an entrance wearing knightly attire and brandishing a large two-handed sword. Similar to other adversaries from Caria, she inflicts significant magic damage with her broad, arcing strikes – though they’re relatively slow and can be dodged with ease. However, enduring even a single attack may leave even the most robust Tarnished fighters drained of health.

To effectively defeat Moonrithyll, it is crucial to eliminate any enemy patrols nearby before engaging her in battle. This will help players focus solely on Moonrithyll’s attacks and avoid dealing with additional enemies. The key to defeating her lies in patience and good timing. Players should try to lure out her attacks and search for openings between them, making it a challenging yet rewarding combat experience. Defeating Moonrithyll grants the Tarnished the powerful Knight Sword of Moonrithyll as a reward. This colossal weapon comes with an unique Ash of War called Tremendous Phalanx, which summons enormous glintblades above the player’s head.

2 Moore

Invades If You Attack His “Friends”

Elden Ring: Best Invaders In Shadow Of The Erdtree, Ranked
  • Heavily armored and wields a huge greatshield.
  • Watch for openings and use status effects.

At first glance, the unassuming and quiet Moore appears to be an helpful ally when players encounter him for the first time. He offers some valuable items for sale and shares similarities with Siegmeyer of Catarina from “Dark Souls”. However, be warned, if players attack any nearby Lesser Kindred of Rot enemies, they will be suddenly invaded by Moore, who is armed with a massive greatshield and displays incredible strength.

Wearing bulky armor, Moore is tough to knock off balance, making it challenging and potentially dangerous to exchange hits with him. Keep an eye out for his shield charges and seize moments where it’s safe to land a few swift attacks. Inflicting status effects such as bleed, poison, or frostbite can significantly aid in this battle. Upon defeating him, the Tarnished obtains the Verdigris armor set, Verdigris Greatshield, and Moore’s Bell Bearing, but this also concludes his quest prematurely. It might be wise to postpone confronting him.

1 Needle Knight Leda

Invades At The Castle In Enir-Ilim

Elden Ring: Best Invaders In Shadow Of The Erdtree, Ranked
  • Accompanied by 1 to 3 story-dependent allies.
  • Use Spirit Ashes and NPC summons to even the odds.

An engaging tale often includes a well-executed act of betrayal, and Needle Knight Leda embodies this concept in “Shadow of the Erdtree.” At first, players encounter this devoted follower of Miquella within Mohgwyn Palace following the defeat of Mohg, Lord of Blood. Her presence serves as an introduction to the expansion. However, as the Tarnished progresses on Leda’s journey to locate the lost Empyrean, events take a sinister turn at Enir-Ilim.

As a gamer, I can tell you that no matter what paths I took during my journey through this game, Lady Leda will make her move to defend her lord at the castle’s end. She won’t back down, come rain or shine. And let me add, she’ll be bringing some allies with her. The number depends on my past actions and accomplishments – up to three formidable warriors, amplifying the intensity of this final showdown. Defeating Lady Leda will always reward me with the legendary Leda’s Sword. Moreover, if her companions join the battle, I stand a chance to claim additional valuable loot.
