Yet, the method of saving her isn’t as direct compared to other characters. Nevertheless, Ranni’s questline is intricate and lengthy, requiring some time to complete.

Typically, she’s fated to perish following the battle against the Fire Giant, as she self-sacrifices to clear the Erdtree’s thorny barrier. However, if players choose to accept the Three Fingers, they can save her. This leads to two possible outcomes:

1. By continuing with their transformation into the Lord of the Frenzied Flame, Melina appears in a special ending sequence.
2. By shedding the Three Fingers’ mark and burning the Erdtree thorns themselves, players can continue their journey to become Elden Lord, leaving Melina alive (though her whereabouts remain uncertain). Regardless of her unknown location, she would have been saved and would still be alive somewhere.

To proceed with this choice, gamers need to acquire Miquella’s Needle. This artifact is earned after finishing Millicent’s storyline, during which she gives players the Unalloyed Gold Needle.
