To reach this place, you must initially defeat Morgott, The Omen King in Leyndell first, as it seems access is contingent upon a specific level of advancement within the main storyline. For those curious about how to get here or where the Grand Lift of Rold can be found, we’ve delved into all the necessary details below.
How To Get The Rold Medallion In Elden Ring
After vanquishing the true Omen King in the Royal Capital of the Lands Between, Leyndell, you’ll be rewarded with the Runed Scepter (Rold Medallion) directly by the game system. What’s unique about this boss is that Morgott’s body remains on the ground instead of disintegrating like other Elden Ring opponents, and a Site of Grace fails to materialize in its usual spot.
This is the game’s way of telling you that there’s something you need to do first, which is attempt to enter the Erdtree itself by going up the large staircase leading into the tree on the other side of Morgott’s arena. Once you discover that the tree’s entrance is blocked by thorns/roots, you’ll turn around to see that a Site of Grace has now spawned in the center of Morgott’s arena. Sit at this Site of Grace, and Melina (your very own Maiden) will appear before you to elaborate on why the Erdtree is currently inaccessible.

Once you’ve ascended this giant elevator, follow the solitary path ahead and you’ll encounter another stone elevator. This one will take you to the Forbidden Lands Site of Grace.
