Elden Ring Nightreign is getting a console network test in February

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the news about Elden Ring Nightreign has me both excited and a tad disappointed. On one hand, the prospect of delving into another masterpiece from the minds at FromSoftware is absolutely tantalizing. The multiplayer-focused return to Roundtable Hold sounds like a thrilling adventure, and I can’t wait to see what unique characters and bosses await us in this parallel universe.

Bandai Namco and developer FromSoftware have jointly announced that a network trial for the game “Elden Ring Nightreign” will be available in February.

On the one hand, it’s advantageous for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X users since they can preview part of the game before its official release. Unfortunately, this early access isn’t being granted to PC gamers yet, though the reasons behind this aren’t clear-cut at the moment, possibly due to concerns about datamining.

Starting January 10th, I’ll be eagerly checking the official website for my chance to register for the network test of Elden Ring: Nightreign! Don’t forget to mark your calendars!

The network test is a preliminary verification test in which the selected testers play a portion of the game prior to the full game launch.

We’ll evaluate the performance of numerous online systems by performing extensive stress tests on their networks.

In a fresh adventure crafted by FromSoftware’s team, players unite under the banner of Elden Ring: Nightreign. This multiplayer-centric title offers a return to the Roundtable Hold in a world mirroring Elden Ring’s events but with its unique twists. You’ll pick one of eight distinct characters, each boasting special skills and formidable Ultimates. Your adventure leads you to Limveld, where swift decisions on combat and exploration become essential as the Night’s Tide progressively narrows the map during the night cycle.

Every night’s game session concludes with players battling a formidable boss. If they emerge victorious, they’ll encounter even tougher challenges the next day. Each game session builds up to the third night when they’ll clash against the designated Nightlord. It’s possible to fight these battles solo, but teaming up offers greater strength. The Elden Ring universe offers an exceptional experience as Nightfarers learn to collaborate and harness their unique abilities to overcome these challenges together. Those who fail in battle won’t be left empty-handed; they’ll receive relics that can be used to customize and enhance their characters, tailoring them to their preferred playstyles.

Elden Ring Nightreign is coming to PC and consoles in 2025.
