The recent overview for FromSoftware’s Elden Ring Nightreign unveiled a wealth of fresh details about the upcoming game that resembles the Souls series. Besides random meteor showers and other world occurrences, players will have the opportunity to don costumes representing their favorite characters from Dark Souls as new outfits.
Although the game continues to limit multiplayer to only three players rather than providing a two-player mode, it does offer an exciting option for players to enjoy themselves by dressing up in stylish attire and jumping around.
Elden Ring Nightreign lets you play Dark Souls dress-up
In the latest showcase, FromSoftware unveiled several Dark Souls costumes that gamers can acquire and don while navigating through the game’s chaotic, enemy-infested landscapes.
In the preview, only a few character costumes were displayed. Fans of the original game will have the freedom to customize Solaire and invoke “Praise the Sun” as much as they desire. Moreover, players can also assume the role of Leonhard, a non-player character resembling a Hunter from Dark Souls 3.
Under the influence of fighting techniques reminiscent of Sekiro, Dark Souls, and most notably Elden Ring, Nightreign appears to be the epitome of FromSoft’s past 15 years of game launches. It seems as though it’s gathering all the best elements from their previous works, much like a compilation album.
Following the unveiling of Nightreign, FromSoftware intends to maintain an active post-release phase filled with fresh content. Though the game boasts numerous adversaries reminiscent of the Dark Souls series, it’s anticipated that additional foes will be added as well.
Although some gamers have been concerned that with Elden Ring Nightreign and The Duskbloods for Nintendo Switch 2, FromSoftware’s focus might shift entirely to multiplayer games, this is not accurate. The studio has confirmed that they are still working on more single-player titles, and multiplayer-exclusive games will not be their sole future endeavors.
Despite the fact that the Soulsborne series is primarily single-player oriented, multiplayer has consistently been a significant aspect of it. Interestingly, Nightreign appears to excel particularly in its cooperative gameplay focus, making it an enticing prospect.
