Elden Ring Nightreign Steam reviews are FromSoftware’s second-lowest ever, as players hit back against its 60fps cap and lack of duos support

For about 16 years, Early Elden Ring Nightreign Steam reviews have been the most critical among any games developed by FromSoftware.

Despite the soaring player numbers of Elden Ring Nightreign eclipsing the cumulative total of all three Dark Souls games on Steam, its user ratings are trailing behind. At this moment, it’s only managing a ‘Generally Positive’ rating of 73%.

Compared to other games developed by FromSoftware Inc on Steam, your score is among the lowest. Only Dark Souls 3’s Ashes of Ariandel DLC has a slightly worse rating (59%), and you need to search quite extensively, even going back to the 2009 game Ninja Blade with its 62% score, to find anything lower.

It appears that most complaints can be grouped into several main areas. One of these is the absence of duo play options – players can either take on Elden Ring Nightreign solo or in groups of three, but FromSoftware acknowledges they didn’t fully develop duo support; however, they hint at potentially addressing this issue in a future update.

The game doesn’t offer ultrawide screen support, and it’s locked at a 60fps frame rate, which some critics find unacceptable for the year 2025. Additionally, the game’s poor keyboard support is another common complaint. While this issue can be bypassed by using a controller, it seems to be a significant letdown for many players.

It’s important to note that some players’ negative reviews for various games may stem from personal preferences or hardware-related issues. For instance, our Elden Ring Nightreign review, as well as the Metacritic score, hinted that Nightreign might be a game that appeals more to a specific group of gamers, and it appears this is indeed the case based on player feedback.
