The upcoming roster of Elden Ring Evernight’s Dark Sovereign bosses draws near, as confirmed by developers FromSoftware today, hinting at the unveiling of upgraded versions of some challenging and exciting boss battles within the game.
Hey gamers! Exciting news – starting July 31, 2025, a new Everdark cycle is kicking off in Limveld. Get ready to face the powerful Nightlords Tricephalos, Augur, Equilibrious Beast and Fissure in the Fog as they’ll be unleashing their darkest powers! Keep an eye on your Twitter feed for more updates.
Anticipating their arrival was inevitable since FromSoftware had just confirmed a repeat of the current Everdark bosses as an interim measure. However, laying eyes on the Everdark Equilibrious Beast itself sets off a strange sensation in me.
Among all the bosses in Nightreign, Old Libra is arguably the most notorious and challenging one. In his dedicated final battle, he’s infamous for unleashing relentless combos and causing Madness status, yet somehow managing to avoid being stunned himself. To add to the difficulty, he can unexpectedly show up as a disruptive random event during a run. It was even more challenging before update 1.01.3 because the weapons that effectively counter Libra’s Madness were exceptionally rare. However, FromSoftware made these weapons more accessible in this update.
For some time now, players have been both apprehensive and excited, with a typical Dark Souls craving, about the release of this Everdark edition. Without a doubt, it promises to be an intriguing spectacle.
I find Tricephalos and Fissure in the Fog to be fantastic, particularly Fissure in the Fog which is arguably the best spectacle boss from the original lineup. This leaves me hopeful about them. However, it’s not these familiar faces that have me most thrilled. Instead, it’s Everdark Augur that piques my interest, not because it’s my preferred boss, but quite the opposite. In fact, among this group, it’s the one I like least. It’s more of an afterthought when it comes to a boss fight, in my opinion. It’s almost non-confrontational. Strikingly passive. Exceptionally dull.
The Augur is almost too weak to pose a threat, making it more of a challenge that could use some refinement as an Everdark Nightlord. It’s comparable to unleashing a Giga Pinwheel in Dark Souls – it’s time for it to show some action!
I wasn’t particularly fond of the duo “bug boss” either, and I must admit that its frequent pauses and focus on restricting areas are not my favorite aspects. However, compared to Augur, it offers significantly more excitement. Interestingly, I even enjoyed its Everdark version quite a bit. So, dear Everdark Augur, why not learn a new move? Anything memorable would be a great improvement.
