In the introductory trailer for Elden Ring Nightreign, FromSoftware delved into the theme of “forgotten past.” Players can gather these fragments to uncover more about the eight Nightfarers’ histories and the game’s narrative, with the system being referred to as Remembrances in a recent IGN First video. This method surpasses FromSoft’s traditional approach to storytelling.
As players delve into Remembrances, they might discover fresh journal entries for their Nightfarer. Yet, they may also venture off into distinct gameplay segments with personal tasks assigned. For instance, the Ironeye is tasked with traveling to a particular spot in Limveld, confronting a traitor there, and subsequently delivering a letter to an NPC.
In the meantime, the Raider’s Tales involve one-on-one fights against bosses in a grand amphitheater reminiscent of gladiatorial contests. The outcomes of other Nightfarers’ narratives are yet to unfold, but this method of storytelling is quite distinctive.
The game titled Elden Ring Nightreign will be available starting May 30th across platforms including Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Xbox One, PS4, and PC. You can watch more footage featuring the Nightlord, Libra, a character players can engage with prior to their battle; however, this interaction may result in unpredictable outcomes.
