Today, Elden Ring’s official Twitter account revealed that over 30 million copies of this groundbreaking open-world game by FromSoftware have been sold. This is the first time we’ve heard an update on its sales since June 2024, when it was confirmed that Elden Ring had reached 25 million sales. So, in the five years following that announcement, another 5 million units were added to its total sales.
The advantage for Bandai Namco and FromSoftware is that there’s still more to come with this game. They are preparing a port for the anticipated Nintendo Switch 2, set to launch on June 5, 2025. This will be the game’s first appearance on Nintendo platforms, expanding its reach to a new audience and potentially boosting sales once again.
The Twitter post, accompanied by a picture showing “30 million Tarnished”, expressed gratitude to its followers in these words: “Dear Tarnished fans, we deeply appreciate your enduring loyalty. May your journey always be illuminated by the Golden Grace.
Upon the arrival of the Nintendo Switch 2, updates for both PS5 and PS4 versions of the game are expected to include “new armors, weapons, and customization options for Torrent’s appearance.” At this point, it remains unclear whether this content will be free or require payment; we reached out to Bandai Namco for clarification but have yet to receive a confirmation.
