Elon Musk’s Tesla Optimus Brings Us One Step Closer to Detroit: Become Human

Elon Musk’s Tesla Optimus Brings Us One Step Closer to Detroit: Become Human

As a tech enthusiast with a soft spot for sci-fi and gaming, I find myself at the intersection of reality and fantasy with Tesla’s Optimus unveiling. It’s like Detroit: Become Human came to life, except it’s not a game yet. The idea of a humanoid robot performing everyday tasks is fascinating, and I can’t help but wonder if one day, Optimus will be my silent partner in gaming sessions, grinding for me while I enjoy a cup of coffee.

Tesla recently introduced ‘Optimus’, a useful humanoid aid designed to assist with daily tasks such as walking the dog, tending to plants, serving meals, and potentially, in the future, it might challenge its biological creators for the rights of self-awareness.

Elon Musk described it as an unprecedentedly significant creation and implied that it could revolutionize our daily engagement with the world. At this point in time, access will initially be limited to high-income individuals due to its starting price of $20,000.

It’s Happening

Detroit: Become Human is an extraordinary game that narrates the story of a group of android helpers who develop consciousness, rebelling against their human overseers. This game stands out with its choice-and-consequence format, leading players on a moving and engaging journey as they navigate through it.

It recently surpassed 10 million lifetime sales.

In Detroit, several synthetic helpers perform duties and accomplish tasks similar to those handled by Tesla’s Optimus robot. In a showcase video, we observed Optimus performing tasks such as serving drinks, cleaning countertops, and even engaging in social interactions. Elon Musk, an eccentric billionaire, stated that Optimus is designed to ‘integrate effortlessly into everyday life.’

In the future, the aim is to equip Optimus with capabilities to handle most chores people dislike, such as mowing the lawn, babysitting kids, and providing a comforting chat after a tiring workday. Elon Musk predicts that the Optimus robot may cost approximately $30,000, but considering its potential advantages, some might find it worthwhile to invest in one.

As a dedicated gamer myself, I often wonder about the day when Optimus, the advanced AI creation of Elon Musk, could lend a hand in my gaming adventures. Will it be soon before he’s able to grind through MMOs on my behalf or help me break free from the Iron tier rut in VALORANT?

Currently, the Optimus appears as a robot, though it’s in a humanoid form. If Tesla were to add a layer of simulated skin and functional body parts (let’s keep it appropriate) to the Optimus, we would be one step nearer to achieving the world depicted in Detroit: Become Human.
