Emulator Developers Get Bloodborne Opening Running On PC

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I can confidently say that the anticipation for Bloodborne‘s PC release has been as relentless as a hunter pursuing a Beast. Sony’s decision to bring other first-party franchises onto PC has left many of us scratching our heads and wondering why Bloodborne remains an exception.

Ever since its debut in 2015, gamers have eagerly anticipated the arrival of Bloodborne on PC. Given that Sony has ported other exclusive series such as God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn, many fans believe that Bloodborne is a logical addition to their PC roster.

However, it hasn’t happened yet. But there is some hope of getting Bloodborne running on PC thanks to a new PS4 emulator.

Since the launch of the ShadPS4 emulator in 2023, its creators have been diligently working on making the game playable on PC. Though advancements have been gradual, they’ve managed to achieve a significant milestone by successfully running the game’s opening cutscene within the emulator.

The developers are utilizing a streaming library known as Avplayer, which is designed to play mp4 files on PS4, in addition to incorporating certain visual enhancements.

“Based on the discussions you’ve seen, it’s likely clear that the Bloodborne game is being gradually and steadily enhanced by our team,” the developers noted.

They went on to explain that the game isn’t quite ready for play yet, but they’re seeing steady advancements each day.
