How To Start Encounters of the Wild Side Tale in Ghost of Yotei

For this quest, head to the Shipwreck Shoal, which is northeast of the Teshio Ridge area. Once you arrive, you’ll see a house in the distance that you can’t reach yet. Close by, you’ll find two wooden fox carvings that you can interact with – this starts the puzzle. First, interact with the left statue and turn it to face right. Then, interact with the right statue and turn it to face left. This will make the statues face each other, and a rope will appear, letting you cross over to the other side.

The puzzle isn’t finished yet – you still need to adjust two fox statues. This time, turn the left statue to face left and the right statue to face right, making them look away from each other. This will let you walk up to the wall and enter. Collect everything inside, and then pray at the Altar of Reflection to receive a free Skill Point. After that, take the scroll located on the left side of the room; it talks about the Sarufutsu Lighthouse and begins the The Encounters of the Wild side tale.

How To Solve The Sarufutsu Lighthouse Puzzle in Ghost of Yotei

Okay, so once I got the scroll, I went outside and looked to my left – and there it was, the Lighthouse! I called my horse and rode over to it, then went inside. The first thing I noticed was more of those fox statues, there were some on the left and some on the right side of the room.

First, arrange the fox statues on the left so they are facing each other. This lets you pick up the statue in the center and move it onto the left pedestal. Repeat this process on the right side, making those statues face each other as well. After you place the second statue, you’ll be able to interact with the wall ahead, allowing you to pass through and reach the Hunting Camp Hideout.

The hideout is safe, so you don’t need to prepare for combat. Just go to the cage and release the fox inside. Then, follow the fox as it guides you to the Sanctuary Grove. You’ll find an NPC there who cares for all the animals. After collecting the items you need, approach the deer to the right of the house – it will show you the way out. Finally, climb the scaffolds to discover an Altar of Reflection and then you can exit the area.
