As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I must say that the opening act of “Enigma of Fear” has set the stage for an intriguing and immersive journey. The semi-open world design allows for a sense of freedom and exploration, which is always refreshing in a horror game.
As a gamer, I’ve found myself deeply engrossed in the captivating world of Enigma of Fear. In this chilling adventure, I step into the shoes of Mia, a dedicated member of the Paranormal Order, who is on a relentless quest to find her missing father and the enigmatic Mr. Verity, our organization’s director. This gripping tale is filled with intricate puzzles and hidden secrets that keep me hooked for hours, leaving no stone unturned in my search for the truth.
In the game, I found myself venturing into The Underground, the second thrilling location I encountered, following my adventure at the Strach Mansion. Unlike the mansion brimming with brain-bending puzzles, The Underground is more subtle in its challenges, but a careless approach could still leave you missing out on some crucial details. Here’s an exhaustive guide to help navigate through the Underground section of Enigma of Fear, ensuring you don’t miss a beat!
Starting the Chapter
Following your victory over Callisto, you’ll find Verity unconscious on the floor as a cryptic figure reveals a hidden door within the chamber. Once the scene fades out, you’ll be confronted with a dimly lit room similar to a church, where Verity is bound with chains. Trying to interact with the chains proves fruitless, so select ‘escape’ to navigate back to the main menu.
Click ‘Begin’, then tap on the bloodstained symbols to rejoin Mia’s tale in “Enigma of Fear“. You’ll pick up exactly where you last were, still in the room where the boss battle took place. Recall the direction from which the enigmatic figure emerged. Approach the wall and strike it with your crowbar to uncover a concealed entrance. Mia may seem taken aback by your knowledge of this secret door. Proceed through the doorway to access the Underground.
Exploring Underground
In simpler terms, the Underground is where most of your in-game activities take place and it acts as your central hub. It’s connected to various other game levels, and over time, you’ll be able to create direct paths leading back to this spot.
Upon entering the Underground, proceed through the door to your left. Turn right and follow the path until you come across a hallway with two doors. Enter the door on the left first, as it leads to the Infirmary. Inside, you’ll encounter two Blood Zombies that you’ll need to defeat. After dealing with them, examine the Perimeter Medical Report found on the desk.
As a curious explorer, I’d retrace my steps back to the Corridor and opt for the door less traveled this time, venturing towards the heart of the Underground – the central area. With the trusty Radio in hand, I’ll summon Samuel and Agatha to join me. The next visit to this locale will be momentous, as our team will establish a stronghold, making it our principal operational base. A cryptic note awaits my discovery near the desk, offering insights into those pesky security panels.
As a gamer, I’d say: “You’ll spot a map of the current level right next to where you can interact. It’ll provide a neat overview of the layout, labeling various rooms for easy navigation. Flip it to UV Mode to uncover hidden connections between this level and others, like the Graveyard of Melodies or the Crystal Cave.
You’ll find some 9mm Ammo in the nearby wooden crates that you can break using the Crowbar.
To locate the computer system, proceed to your right. Although it’s currently inoperative, you can still interact with it. Instead, opt for the nearby door. Inside, you’ll discover a malfunctioning item on the table. Examine the clipboard in the room to gather information about Haunted Items. This knowledge will prove handy when Samuel and Agatha arrive.
Head back to the spot where you find the Radio, and you’ll see a door on its right side. As you approach, you’ll notice a staircase descending from an underground area immediately ahead of you. Remember this staircase as it will serve as your route to ascend to the next level later in your journey.
In your journey through this location, notice that many doors are secured and require special codes to unlock. Don’t fret over these codes at the moment; as you advance in the game “Enigma of Fear”, you’ll come across the necessary codes along the way.
Circling back to the opposite side of the room will lead you to a note on the floor. Upon closer examination, it reveals an empty 9×9 grid. But when you toggle to UV Mode, you’ll notice that certain squares have been marked off. This serves as your hint for activating the nearby Security Panel.
The grid resembles the keys on the Security Keypad.
To unlock the Director’s Room, input code 14698 on the keypad, then press the green button. Inside, you’ll discover a Cassette Tape that provides additional insights about the world, as well as a note on the bed and a photograph near the television.
Exploring The Perimeter
As I step out from the Director’s Room, my next adventure awaits in the Enigma of Feear’s next chapter. Since this game offers a semi-open world exploration, I get to decide where to venture next. Here are my choices:

- Cathedral
As a fan, I chose the “Graveyard of Melodies” as my destination, but you’re welcome to explore wherever you fancy. To get there, use the staircase conveniently located by the entrance and it’ll lead you to the Perimeter. Further ahead, you’ll spot another set of stairs that will take you right into the main Perimeter area. Be aware, this zone is teeming with Blood Zombies, but since they don’t regenerate, feel free to eliminate them when you get a chance.

In whatever chapter you choose to advance next, once you manage to locate a radio and get in touch with your team, you’ll discover that they have already progressed into the central part of the Underground. Therefore, when you eventually arrive at that location, you will be able to engage with them and they’ll provide you with extra information to assist you further on your journey through the Enigma of Fear.
