As a longtime fan of Epic Games and someone who has followed their journey closely, I couldn’t be more thrilled about their recent announcement regarding their updated mobile gaming strategy. After the lengthy battle with Apple and Google over fair distribution terms, it’s heartening to see Epic taking a stand for all developers and consumers.
As a long-time fan of mobile gaming and a dedicated Fortnite player, I’m thrilled to hear about Epic Games’ new strategy for their mobile offerings. After being sidelined from the iOS store in the EU due to Apple’s App Store policies, it’s great news that Fortnite will be making its way back. Moreover, the fact that the Epic Games Store is now available on Android devices worldwide and in the EU on iOS is a significant win for gamers who value choice and flexibility.
Today, we unveiled our plan for making our games available on mobile marketplaces. We’re not just planning the debut of Epic Games Store for mobiles, but we’re also collaborating with other independent platforms that prioritize equitable deals for game creators, among which are: [List of stores]

Additionally, Epic Games announced that they will terminate agreements with mobile markets that don’t sufficiently compete and treat all developers fairly, regardless of exclusive deals. This action, taken in response to the Apple and Google predicament, opens up possibilities for Fortnite and other Epic mobile games to be offered on new platforms.
Epic Games announced an expansion of their stance, expressing their strong support for the right of app stores to thrive fairly on iOS and Android platforms. This movement is gaining traction worldwide, with initiatives like Europe’s DMA and similar laws in the UK and Japan, ongoing regulatory probes, and a successful outcome in the Epic vs Google lawsuit in the US. Epic intends to capitalize on this momentum by offering developers attractive deals through their own store while also championing other competitive app marketplaces.
Epic Games Arrives on AltStore
Epic Games is introducing its mobile games to AltStore, an reliable app marketplace for sideloading iOS apps, in the EU region. This is merely the first step, as support for at least two more third-party stores will follow shortly.
I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be able to play Fortnite on my AltStore PAL device very soon! More information will be coming your way shortly, so keep an eye out for updates.

Lastly, Epic Games revealed that Fortnite and its additional mobile offerings will no longer be accessible on the Samsung Galaxy Store. This action was taken due to Samsung’s alleged anticompetitive tactic of disabling side-loading as a default setting on Samsung Android devices.
