On December 19th, the Epic Games Store is giving away the free game Eternights. This is part of their yearly holiday tradition where they offer a different free game each day throughout December as a fun way to count down to the new year. This year’s promotion has been very popular, and they’re continuing to offer exciting free games.

This year, Epic Games Store started giving away free games with the hugely popular Hogwarts Legacy. Players had a whole week to add it to their collections! Hogwarts Legacy is a large, open-world action role-playing game set in the world of Harry Potter, and it was the best-selling game of 2023, selling over 40 million copies. It was a great deal for players to get it for free. Hogwarts Legacy was available as a free game until December 18th, when it was replaced by Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel. This marked the beginning of daily free game giveaways, and Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel has now been swapped out for Eternights.

Eternights is a unique game that combines action-packed dungeon exploration with dating simulation, all set in a post-apocalyptic world. Epic Games Store Free Mystery Games for December 2025 List So Far

  • Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel (December 18)
  • Eternights (December 19)

Similar to how Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel was only available for free for a day, Eternights will also be a one-day offer. If you want to add Eternights to your game library, you need to claim it before December 20th at 10:00am Central Time. After that, it will be removed and a new free game will be offered. We don’t know what the next free game will be, but it will be revealed tomorrow.

The recent leak claiming to reveal the Epic Games Store’s free mystery games is completely false. It was immediately disproven when Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel was offered for free instead of the game listed in the leak, Jurassic World Evolution 2. Now, with Eternights being given away, it’s clear the entire leaked list was fabricated, as neither game was mentioned in it. Fans can rest assured that the leak has no basis in reality.
