2026 is shaping up to be a huge year for video games! We’re expecting major releases like Grand Theft Auto 6, Resident Evil Requiem, 007 First Light, and Saros, alongside a bunch of highly anticipated indie titles such as Mouse P.I. For Hire, Denshattack, and Reanimal. Plus, if last year was anything to go by, the Epic Games Store will likely continue offering plenty of free games in 2026.
Last week was awesome on the Epic Games Store – we got three free games, and two of them were exactly the kind of stuff everyone’s playing right now. This week, it’s just one freebie on November 20th, but honestly, it’s a nice little treat to hold us over until a huge game drops in early 2026!

First released in early access in 2017 and officially launched in 2019, Slay the Spire is a highly acclaimed roguelike deck-building game. Players choose from four different characters and climb a dangerous spire filled with enemies. Battles are turn-based and fought using a deck of cards collected throughout each playthrough. While the basic idea is simple, Slay the Spire offers surprisingly deep and rewarding gameplay that becomes more apparent as you advance.
Mega Crit, the team behind Slay the Spire, announced a sequel was in development back in April 2024, initially planning an early access release for 2025. However, in September, they announced the release has been pushed back to March 2026. While details are still scarce, we do know that two new characters will be playable in Slay the Spire 2.
It’s been six years since the popular game Slay the Spire, and while a sequel is still some time away, a free game available on the Epic Games Store on November 20th might tide fans over. Zoeti, released in April 2023, is a deck-building roguelike where you use cards to defeat enemies – much like Slay the Spire. Like its predecessor, Zoeti features a branching map where you strategically choose your path, deciding when to fight, avoid battles, and improve your deck. The game also includes three playable characters, each with their own special skills.
Although Zoeti is a great way to learn the basics of Slay the Spire or enjoy a similar deck-building game before Slay the Spire 2 comes out in March 2026, it also offers some unique features. The most interesting thing about Zoeti is that it uses regular playing cards in battles. Unlike Slay the Spire, which has cards with special powers, Zoeti requires players to make poker hands to use their abilities and beat enemies, adding a bit of the fun from Balatro to the game.
