The Epic Games Store is giving away Clone Drone in the Danger Zone as its next free game. This highly-rated “slice-em-up” will be available to download starting April 2nd.
As a fan, I was excited to see that Epic was giving away Electrician Simulator and a cool Tachibana Pack for World of Warships last week, starting on March 19th – it was worth about $43 in total! But they just switched things up today, March 26th, and announced what they’re giving away next, so I’m keeping an eye out for that too.
Clone Drone in the Danger Zone Is Epic’s April 2 Freebie
Epic Games will be giving away Clone Drone in the Danger Zone for free starting April 2nd at 8 a.m. Pacific Time (11 a.m. Eastern Time / 5 p.m. Central European Time). You’ll have exactly one week to claim it, as the offer ends on April 9th. While some PC players have enjoyed the game through Xbox Game Pass, this is the first time Clone Drone in the Danger Zone will be available as a completely free download on the Epic Games Store or anywhere else.

What Is Clone Drone in the Danger Zone?
I’ve been really into Clone Drone in the Danger Zone lately. It’s this cool indie game made by Doborog Games where you play as a human brain stuck inside a robot gladiator. Basically, you’re thrown into these crazy arena fights and have to try and survive. It was in development for a while – it first hit Steam Early Access back in 2017 – but finally got a full release in July 2021, and that’s when it came to consoles like PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch. What makes it different is the combat – you don’t just chip away at a health bar. Instead, you literally slice off limbs and weapons using this voxel-based damage system, which is super satisfying. There is a story mode, but honestly, the best part is the endless arena runs and playing with friends. You can duel, team up, or even jump into a battle royale called Last Bot Standing – it’s a blast!
Doborog’s 2021 game didn’t get much coverage from major media, and doesn’t have a score on OpenCritic because there weren’t enough reviews. However, Clone Drone In The Danger Zone was very popular on PC, earning over 17,000 overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam. Players especially liked how easy the game was to control, its unique system for damaging limbs, and the consistent updates the developers released.
Epic Games Store Free Games Right Now
| Freebie | Value | Free Period |
|---|---|---|
| Hyper Echelon | $12.99 | Mar 26 – Apr 2 |
| Havendock | $19.99 | Mar 26 – Apr 2 |
| Clone Drone in the Danger Zone | $19.99 | Apr 2 – Apr 9 |
While everyone waits for Clone Drone in the Danger Zone, Epic Games Store is giving away two free games today, March 26th: Havendock and Hyper Echelon. Havendock, released in 2025, lets you build and manage a futuristic, ocean-based society – it’s a mix of colony simulation and city building. Hyper Echelon is a classic, fast-paced shooter inspired by retro arcade and console games. Normally, these games would cost around $33 together, but they’re both free to claim on the Epic Games Store right now for the first time!
Next week’s free game, Clone Drone in the Danger, will be the first time the Epic Games Store has offered just one free game since February 5th. Previously, Epic Games Store always gave away multiple games each week, or combined a free game with extra content like downloadable packs.
