As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I must say the recent launch of the Epic Games Store mobile app is nothing short of a game-changer! After what feels like an eternity of legal battles, we finally have access to first-party titles like Fall Guys and Fortnite on our mobile devices.

The Epic Games Store has launched a new mobile application for mobile devices, available for download on Android and iOS systems. The digital game storefront is available for Windows PC and MacOS systems, both as a website and a standalone launcher. After some lengthy legal battles, the Epic Games Store mobile app is available, and it comes with a variety of titles that can be played on mobile devices.

The ongoing legal disputes between Epic Games and both Apple and Google, which began in 2020, have been extensive and costly for Epic Games financially due to legal fees. However, these prolonged battles have paved the way for the launch of the Epic Games Store app, allowing it to be accessible to iOS users within the European Union. The application is now available for download, offering a variety of mobile-optimized games developed exclusively for this platform.

Starting now, gamers can use the Epic Games Store application to play exclusive games such as “Fall Guys”, “Fortnite”, and “Rocket League Sideswipe”. Notably, “Fortnite” recently unveiled the fourth season of Chapter 5, where Marvel Comics’ villain Dr. Doom squares off against other superheroes including Shuri, War Machine, and Gwenpool. Unfortunately, due to the Digital Markets Act, the Epic Games Store is currently accessible on mobile devices only in EU countries. However, Epic Games alleges that Apple continues to restrict non-European iOS users from downloading “Fortnite” and the Epic Games Store on their devices.

Epic Games, Apple, and Google Still At Odds

Epic Games acknowledges that setting up the Epic Games Store app on iOS and Android devices takes a considerable amount of time because they intentionally design installation processes to be suboptimal. This strategy is meant to deter gamers from downloading the apps, as Epic Games engages in a legal fight with Apple and Google over the restrictive business practices imposed by these tech giants. Simultaneously, Epic Games is forging alliances with other alternative app stores to make its games accessible on mobile platforms during this struggle.

In partnership with several third-party retailers such as AltStore PAL, Aptoide (for iOS), and ONE Store (on Android), Epic Games offers its services. Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney expressed gratitude towards the European Commission for enabling the launch of the Epic Games Store, thereby providing iOS and Android users with an opportunity to play games via their mobile devices – a privilege that’s long been available on PC and Mac, as it’s an open market. He also commented on the ongoing legal dispute between Epic and Google.
