Summary
- Epic Games Store now offers free games weekly on mobile, aligning with PC giveaways for consistency.
- The mobile change could attract more users to the platform, boosting engagement and downloads.
- Epic Games Store on mobile is offering Eastern Exorcist and Super Meat Boy Forever until March 27.
I’ve noticed that the Epic Games Store has shifted its strategy for providing free games on mobile devices, making it a weekly event instead of a monthly one. Previously, their mobile platform would offer complimentary games every month for both Android and iOS users.
Back in January 2025, I was thrilled to be part of the expansion of Epic Games’ digital storefront service. They launched their platform on iOS for EU users and globally on Android. Emulating their own success, the creators of Fortnite began providing free mobile games through the Epic Games Store, a practice they’ve long been known for on PC. Titles like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Bloons TD 6 were some of the monthly freebies offered to mobile users. But now, things are about to ramp up even more, as these giveaways are transitioning to a weekly schedule!
From March 20, 2025, Epic Games Store switched from offering a free game per month on mobile devices to providing a new free game every week. As of now, gamers can download ‘Eastern Exorcist’ and ‘Super Meat Boy Forever’ for free until March 27. After this date, new sets of paid games will become available for a limited time at no cost. ‘Eastern Exorcist’ is an action RPG set in a fantasy world, while ‘Super Meat Boy Forever’ is a 2D platformer featuring randomly generated levels. This update in the giveaway strategy ensures that the Epic Games Store’s free offerings on PC and mobile platforms coincide with each other, with fresh games becoming available for download every Thursday on both systems.
Epic Games Store on Mobile to Offer Free Games Every Week
- Eastern Exorcist (March 20-27)
- Super Meat Boy Forever (March 20-27)
As a follower, I appreciate how Epic Games Store has harmonized their giveaways across PC and mobile platforms, eliminating any potential confusion caused by different cycles on each platform. Additionally, transitioning their free mobile offerings from monthly to weekly gives an enticing reason for mobile users to download the client, which could potentially increase its user base on that platform.
Over the following months, under the leadership of Tim Sweeney, Epic Games is expected to enhance its mobile game offerings significantly and make broad improvements across the PC version. This upcoming development in their mobile strategy suggests a bright future for users of the Epic Games Store on both Android and iOS devices.
