Released in April 2021, A Fumble in the Dark is a funny, pixel-art adventure game that continues the story of The Darkside Detective from 2017. Players once again follow paranormal detective Francis McQueen and his partner Patrick Dooley as they investigate new, strange cases in the cursed town of Twin Lakes. The game received mostly positive reviews, earning an 83% recommendation rate and an average score of 81 on OpenCritic, resulting in a “Strong” rating. As of early 2026, it also boasts “Overwhelmingly Positive” reviews on Steam, with over 1,500 player reviews.
